So you’re one of the poor souls who held/attended your fantasy football draft right smack dab in the middle of the NFL injury apocalypse known as preseason? Not only that, but you went ahead and drafted Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson all of six minutes before he supposedly tore his ACL during a no contact play (I slip and fall all the time too, Nelson, but it never puts me on the damn PUP list), during a preseason game between his Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday?
Oh, holy hell. It was announced Monday that he suffered significant knee damage and will have to watch the 2015-16 season unfold from his multi-million dollar mansion, the unfortunate poor guy.
So what’s next?
If you already hadn’t because you’re living under a rock, the obvious choice would be to pick up former Fresno State star Davante Adams, who proved his spectacular worth during the off season, and will do so even more now that Nelson is down for the count.
There’s also the six foot Ty Montgomery, a player that Mike McCarthy claimed is “strong, very powerful”. Rounding out the potential backup wideouts is Jeff Janis and Jared Abbrederis along with those fighting to make the roster including Ed Williams and Larry Pinkard.
If Adams can be secured as a back up, your FF season is far from lost.
