BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 18% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Colorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard has been the team's primary left fielder so far this year, but he certainly hasn't been seeing regular playing time by any means. Hilliard started seven of the team's first 12 games as the team has rotated him with the likes of Raimel Tapia, Garrett Hampson and Matt Kemp.
Tapia has really struggled to open the year, with just two hits through his first 15 at-bats. Kemp has been solid, but has been primarily used as a designated hitter. That just leaves Hampson as the primary problem for Hilliard for now. It's going to be hard for either to get regular playing time while they are both producing adequately.
Hilliard has exceptional power upside. He hit 35 home runs and tallied 101 RBI in 126 games at Triple-A last year, then went on to hit seven home runs in a short 23-game stint in the majors last year as well. He's also a stolen base threat. He stole 22 bases in the minors last year and already has one this year.
Adding Hilliard now is a gamble on his upside if he's able to get regular playing time this year. He could be a fantasy beast if he's able to play every day or close to it. If you're able to take a flyer on someone in leagues of 12 teams or more, Hilliard is about as good of a flyer as you're likely to find on the waiver wire.
