RotoBaller NBA Recap: Giannis Doing Giannis Things

Welcome to the RotoBaller NBA Recap. In this feature, we will highlight three fantasy basketball takeaways from last night's slate of NBA games. We had four contests on the Sunday slate with the Pelicans beating the Pistons 116-108, the Bucks upending the Raptors 104-99, the Spurs defeating the Jazz 110-97 and the Hornets stinging the Knicks 119-107.

Despite the loss, Blake Griffin continued his terrific season to the tune of 35 points, five rebounds and two assists. The loss drops the Pistons to 13-11 on the season, but of their 24 games, they have already played 15 home games. The Jazz and Spurs contest never felt close, and it's still quite weird seeing a negative winning percentage next to the Spurs logo in the standings. The win for San Antonio boosted the Spurs to 13-14 on the year, following a stellar contest by DeMar DeRozan, who finished with 26 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Let's take a look at the recap for NBA games on Sunday, December 9th.

Kevin Knox Ties Career-High in Points

The Knicks' first round pick in the past draft has been playing surprisingly good ball as of late. On December 1st, Kevin Knox scored a career-high 26 points in a two-point win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Although the Knicks have yet to win since that game against the Bucks, Knox tied that scoring output last night in the Knicks' loss to the Hornets. He added a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with the 26 points for his first career double-double.

His season-long averages don't look the most ideal, but when you break down his monthly splits, he's put together some terrific performances since December began. In five games this month, Knox is averaging 15.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists.

He's definitely a player to keep your eye on as a potential streamer.

Jrue Holiday Continues Hot December

Another player who has enjoyed himself to the fullest since the calendar hit December is Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday. Yesterday's game included him finishing with 37 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

For the month, Holiday is now averaging 25.0 points, 9.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals on nearly 55 percent shooting from the field, including 44 percent from three-point range. Holiday is being called on heavily for the Pelicans and he's logged almost 38 minutes per game since December began.

Holiday remains a top option at point guard on a competitive Pelicans squad.

Giannis Doing Giannis Things

It's Giannis Antetokounmpo's world and we are all just living in it.

In a slim victory against the Toronto Raptors, Antetokounmpo led the way with 19 points, 19 rebounds and six assists. The double-double marked his 10th such game in his past 11 contests. It's hard to match the absolute consistency and dominance of Antetokounmpo and there's no end in sight of his superiority.

Fire up Giannis in your lineups if you own him and please try and trade for him for your roster if you don't have the honor of owning him yet.
