Thatcher Demko Dealing With Back Spasms
3 months agoAccording to Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet650, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (back) left Thursday's game with back spasms. Demko was involved in a collision in the opening frame but was able to remain in the game through most of the second frame. Before exiting, he stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced against the Seattle Kraken. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout the weekend. Demko was likely not going to start on the second-half of the back-to-back on Friday evening before the injury so his next start could come on Monday evening against the Montreal Canadiens depending on his health. In the meantime, Kevin Lankinen will take the starter's crease.

Thatcher Demko Dresses As Backup Thursday
1 week agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (lower body) will return to the lineup on Thursday against the St. Louis Blues, dressing as the backup to Kevin Lankinen. Demko has been out of action since Feb. 8 due to a lower-body injury. Now that he is once again considered game-ready, Demko could return to the net on Saturday when the Canucks take on the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Demko owns a 6-6-3 record for the season with 2.87 goals allowed. At the start of February, he posted his first shutout of the season, and Demko's save percentage stands at .891.
