2 months agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson extended his winning streak to five games on Tuesday evening with an overtime victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Ersson stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced. His lone blemish came in the third period when Ben Chiarot scored on a wrist shot. However, he was able to shut the door for the remainder of the contest, which set up defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen to score the game-winner in overtime. During this five-game winning streak, Ersson has held a .903% SV and a 1.58 GAA. He has allowed one goal or less in three of these games. Fantasy managers should expect Ersson to continue to see the majority of starts in the Philadelphia crease going forward. He will look to extend this streak on Thursday against the New York Rangers.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced en route to defeating the New Jersey Devils on Monday evening. Ersson allowed his first goal to Dougie Hamilton late in the second frame. Then, in the final minutes of the third, New Jersey wing Timo Meier would score his 15th of the season to get the Devils within one. However, Scott Laughton would score the empty-netter shortly after to seal the victory. This was a nice bounce-back for Ersson as he allowed five goals in his loss to the New York Rangers in his last start. However, the 25-year-old was riding a five-game winning streak before this poor showing. During this stretch, Ersson held an impressive .930% SV and a 1.58 GAA. Ersson will look to start a new streak in a rematch against the Devils on Wednesday.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 months agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson will head out for a fifth consecutive win on Tuesday against Detroit. After recovering from a lower-body injury, Ersson suffered a 4-1 defeat against Dallas when he returned to the crease on Jan. 9. However, he has matched his career-best winning streak since, logging one shutout and allowing seven goals across four games. Ersson has improved to 13-7-2 and has a 2.79 goals-against average for the campaign. He boasts two shutouts and has registered a .889 save percentage. Detroit has recently gone cold again, dropping three of the past four games, but Ersson struggled massively in his previous appearance in the matchup. The Swedish netminder gave up five goals on 23 shots in a 6-4 defeat in Detroit on Dec. 18.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson (lower body) will start Thursday's matchup against Dallas. The 25-year-old returns to work after spending three games on the sidelines due to a lower-body injury. Ersson carries a solid 9-6-2 record for the season and has won three of his previous four starts. He has recorded one shutout and boasts a 3.02 goals-against average with a .884 save percentage. The Flyers will need to see an excellent display from Ersson on Thursday as they host one of the league's best teams, which has been hot recently with a five-game winning streak.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

3 months agoPhiladelphia Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson (lower body) is considered day-to-day. He has sustained a lower-body injury for the third time this season. Health issues have limited Ersson to just 18 starts, with the Swedish netminder posting a 9-6-2 record. He has logged a 3.02 goals-against average with a .884 save percentage and one shutout. Aleksei Kolosov and Ivan Fedotov are the alternative options between the pipes for Philadelphia. Both netminders have had a torrid time in 2024-25 and are not good fantasy options, especially on Thursday, when the Flyers face a top-class Vegas team.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
