Buffalo Sabres center Ryan McLeod scored a hat trick in their victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Wednesday evening. McLeod opened the scoring with a wrist shot to give Buffalo an early lead. Later in the second, he would score on another wrist to extend their lead to three goals at the time. Then, in the final minutes, McLeod earned his third goal of the night on the empty-netter. He also logged two blocked shots and two penalty minutes in this game. This was McLeod's second three-point showing over his previous three games. However, before this recent surge in production, McLeod tallied just three points (all assists) over his last 11 contests. McLeod remains a risky value play in DFS but could be worth a look if he continues this offensive surge.

Edmonton Oilers center Ryan McLeod put together a second consecutive multi-point outing with a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 road win over the Rangers. He played a big part in a third-period comeback, helping Warren Foegele on the scoreboard and notching the game-winning marker himself. McLeod has suddenly erupted for four points in two games after a six-game run without any points. He isn't a regular scoring threat and has yet to register a three-game point streak in his career. In 31 games this season, McLeod has amassed five goals and six assists.

Edmonton Oilers center Ryan McLeod (undisclosed) is reportedly progressing well and should be ready for action again soon. The Oilers expect to have him available for one or two preseason games. McLeod was injured at the start of training camp a week ago. The 24-year-old did a great job as a bottom-six piece for the Oilers last season, scoring 11 goals and delivering 12 assists in 57 appearances while also demonstrating strong defensive ability. He's not the flashiest name in the world, but definitely a major part of what the Oilers are trying to do.

Edmonton Oilers center Ryan McLeod suffered a soft-tissue tweak and was held off of the ice on Thursday as a precaution. McLeod turned 24 years of age on Thursday and is coming off a season in which he posted new career-highs in goals (11), points (23), and ice time per game (14:11) despite playing in 57 games, 14 fewer than his total from his rookie season in 2021-22. A bottom-six center, the 40th overall pick of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft is a valued member of the Oilers from a defensive perspective but stands well off the fantasy radar. He could, however, develop into a quality two-way pivot who could see an increase in production if he can stay healthy throughout the 2023-24 campaign.
