1 month agoOn the main card of UFC 307, Kevin Holland was defeated by Roman Dolidze by TKO after suffering a rib injury. After getting taken down by Dolidze, Holland attempted to escape by threatening Dolidze with submissions, and as he rolled through, he injured his rib and screamed in pain. Holland survived the first round but could not continue and the fight was called off. In 5 minutes of action, Holland landed 18 significant strikes. With the loss, Holland dropped to 26-12 as a pro and 13-9 in the UFC.Source: UFC
1 month agoJose Aldo suffered a split decision loss to Mario Bautista on the main card of UFC 307. The Brazilian was controlled for most of the fight as Bautista was able to push him against the fence and hold him there as he was controlled for over two minutes in all three rounds. Aldo did have solid third round as he outstruck Bautista but it was too little too late as he lost a split decision. With the loss, Aldo dropped to 32-9 as a pro and 14-8 in the UFC. The Brazilian still remains a top-15 bantamweight despite the loss.Source: UFC
1 month agoMario Bautista picked up a split decision win over Jose Aldo on the main card of UFC 307. Bautista was set for the biggest fight of his career as he took on the former champ and legend in Aldo. The American started strong outstriking Aldo 40-to-20 and controlling him for over two minutes in the first round. Bautista outstruck Aldo in the second round and in all three rounds, he had over two minutes of control as he was able to push Aldo against the fence and control him. The American ended up edging out a split decision and with a win, Bautista improved to 15-2 as a pro and 9-2 in the UFC while extending his winning streak to seven and should get a top-10 opponent next.Source: UFC
1 month agoKayla Harrison picked up a decision win over Ketlen Vieira on the main card of UFC 307 on Saturday. Harrison was entering her second UFC fight and the former Olympic gold medalist was a sizeable betting favorite. Harrison did have some struggles getting Vieira down as she went just 2-for-8 on her takedowns. But, the American did outstruck Vieira 98-to-67 to edge out a decision win. With the victory, Harrison should face Julianna Pena for the women's bantamweight title next time out.Source: UFC
1 month agoRaquel Pennington suffered a split decision loss to Julianna Pena to lose her women's bantamweight title in the co-main event of UFC 307. Pennington was looking to defend her title for the first time, and after a competitive first round that could have gone either way, Pena controlled her in the second and third rounds with her grappling. But, in the fourth round, Pennington dropped Pena and started to take over. Pennington outstruck Pena in the fifth round and when the final bell rang, many thought she did enough to win. However, the judges scored the fight for Pena as Pennington fell to 16-9. The former champ will likely need to win a fight or two to get another title shot.Source: UFC
1 month agoJulianna Pena scored a split-decision win over Raquel Pennington in the co-main event of UFC 307. Pena was ending her two-year-long layoff as she looked to reclaim her women's bantamweight title. Pena started out strong as she outstruck Pennington in the first round and then controlled the champ for the second and third round. Yet, Pena began to slow down as she was dropped in the fourth round and was outstruck in the fifth round. When the final bell sounded, many thought Pennington won rounds 1, 4, and 5 but in the end, it was Pena who won a split decision. With the win, Pena is now a two-time UFC champ and should face Kayla Harrison next.Source: UFC

In his last bout, Dolidze defeated Anthony Smith at light heavyweight, which was taken on short notice by Smith after Anthony Hernandez withdrew from the fight. Prior to his bout against Smith, Dolidze was on a two-fight losing streak, losing to Nassourdine Imavov and Marvin Vettori. DraftKings sees Dolidze as the underdog with a salary of $7,900. Pena hasn't fought since July of 2022 when she lost a decision to Amanda Nunes to lose her bantamweight title after she scored a stunning upset win over Nunes the fight prior to win the title. Pena enters UFC 307 as the underdog as DraftKings has her at a salary of $7,800. In the UFC, Pena is 7-3 with four wins by stoppage while she's been finished twice by submission. If Pena is going to win, she likely will have to use her wrestling to control the fight and possibly earn a stoppage.
