Garrett Wilson caught five of his eight targets for 113 yards in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Wilson led the Jets in all receiving categories while averaging a season-high 22.6 yards per catch in the close loss to the Patriots. The veteran wideout has been playing well of late as this goes into the books as his third 100-yard receiving game over his past four contests. Wilson will be a low-end WR1 in fantasy heading into Week 9's Thursday night game against the Houston Texans.

5 days agoThe Detroit Lions DST delivered a strong fantasy performance in Week 8 despite allowing over 400 yards in their 52-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. The unit made big plays, including a punt return for a touchdown, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions. This effort earned the Lions a Top-5 fantasy defense finish and marked their third double-digit fantasy scoring game of the season. The Lions DST will aim to stay productive in their Week 9 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

Derrick Henry scored a late touchdown to continue his scoring streak and salvage his day for fantasy managers. The King ended with 73 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. He also hauled in his lone target for four yards. This game looked bleak for the offense as a whole while they failed to convert on many third downs and the Browns got out to a second-half lead. Luckily, Henry punched in a goal-line score near the end of the fourth quarter to deliver a borderline RB1 performance. He'll look to get back to his big outputs against the Denver Broncos in Week 9.

Jaleel McLaughlin totaled 47 yards on his eight carries in the team's 28-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The second-year back added nine yards and a touchdown on his lone target. McLaughlin was again efficient with his touches, notching his third outing of the season with 5+ yards per carry and his second in as many weeks. The receiving touchdown was his second on the season and third total of the campaign -- one more than backfield mate
Javonte Williams. He's been effective in his change-of-pace role in Denver's offense. The former undrafted free agent has a bit more juice than his counterpart; however, he's considerably more diminutive in stature than Williams. Standing three inches shorter (5-foot-7) and over 30 pounds lighter, he may never take over Denver's "thumper" role and likely won't garner standalone value unless the fourth-year back is forced to miss time. The Broncos will take on the Ravens next Sunday in Week 9.

Kirk Cousins enjoyed another big day versus Tampa Bay, completing 23 of 29 passes for 276 yards and four touchdowns without throwing a pick in the 31-26 victory. The 36-year-old signal-caller even chipped in 16 yards on three carries. The veteran QB probably wishes he could face the Buccaneers every week, now with 785 yards and an 8:1 TD:INT in two games versus their divisional foe. He'll finish the week as a top-five QB for fantasy, however, the 13-year pro has been fairly pedestrian otherwise, averaging 220 yards per game with a 6:6 TD:INT, those two games versus the Bucs notwithstanding. Cousins will get a somewhat favorable matchup in Week 9 against the Cowboys and figures to be a QB2 with QB1 upside again.

Hall's output in the passing game also comes as a disappointment after he racked up 11 catches for 159 yards in his previous two games. He will be a solid RB1 in fantasy heading into a Week 9 Thursday night matchup against the Houston Texans.

Lamar Jackson posted his most inefficient throwing day but is able to put together a QB1-level fantasy performance. He registered 289 yards and two touchdowns while throwing 23-for-38 and added 46 yards on eight carries. Jackson led the offense down the field to get a late-game lead when
Derrick Henry punched in a two-yard score, but was unable to make up for their defense's mistakes in a final game-winning drive. The Ravens' third-down offense couldn't convert for most of the game either. That said, the two-time MVP still posted a high-quality fantasy day. They'll return home for a Week 9 matchup against the Denver Broncos.

Aaron Rodgers completed 17 of his 28 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-22 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8. Rodgers and the Jets turned in an uneven performance in losing to the underdog Patriots as they struggled to move the ball at times and were unable to hold onto a five-point lead with three minutes left in the fourth quarter. The veteran quarterback came into the game dealing with hamstring and knee injuries but he appeared to emerge from the contest without any further injury. Jonnu Smith caught four of six targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 28-27 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. This performance was a big step back from his seven-catch, 96-yard outing last week against the Indianapolis Colts. His day could've been slightly better if not for a dropped pass that hit him in the chest. Smith receiving six targets is encouraging for fantasy managers, especially given the number of viable pass-catchers Miami has.
Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) returning to the lineup only helps his outlook moving forward. Look for Smith's connection to improve with Tua down the stretch. It starts next week against the division rival Buffalo Bills, who rank in the middle of the pack against opposing tight ends.

The Ravens' offense came into the game leading the league in points per game and yards per game but the Browns held them under their averages while pulling off the upset win over their divisional rivals. Cleveland's defense sacked
Lamar Jackson three times in the contest, getting one apiece from Za'Darius Smith, Ogno Okoronkwo, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, although Owusu-Koramoah was carted off the field in the third quarter with a neck injury. Cleveland's defense will look to stay hot against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine caught two passes on four targets or 39 yards and a touchdown in a blowout loss to the Lions on Sunday. With the departure of
DeAndre Hopkins, all signs pointed to
Tyler Boyd being the WR who would step up vs. Detroit but it was Westbrook-Ikhine who had the much better fantasy day. Boyd still out-targeted the former Indiana star, but the latter caught the only touchdown pass on the day from quarterback
Mason Rudolph, a well-run slant from six yards out.
Calvin Ridley is still the alpha wideout in this offense by a long shot based on his 39% target share on Sunday, but Westbrook-Ikhine has scored a touchdown in three straight games and continues to be a reliable target for whoever is playing quarterback for the Titans. He will look to continue his scoring streak next week against the Patriots.

Dustin Hopkins made all three of his field-goal attempts and added two extra points in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Hopkins hit field goals from 28, 33, and 48 yards out in the upset win over the Ravens. The veteran kicker has now made 13 of his 16 attempts through eight games. With the Cleveland offense looking the best it has all year in
Jameis Winston's first start of the season, Hopkins is all of a sudden looking like a viable fantasy option heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

David Njoku caught five of his seven targets for 61 yards and a touchdown in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Njoku finished fourth on the Browns in receiving yards while hauling in a 23-yard touchdown pass from
Jameis Winston in the third quarter, his second touchdown catch over his past two games. The veteran tight end is looking like a top option at the position moving forward with the Cleveland offense all of a sudden looking competent with Winston under center. Treat Njoku as a high-end TE1 heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Elijah Moore caught eight of his 12 targets for 85 yards in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Moore led the Browns in targets and catches while finishing second in receiving yards in the upset win over the Ravens. The eight-catch, 85-yard game from Moore was easily his best effort of the 2024 season as he showed instant chemistry with new starting quarterback
Jameis Winston. Moore is all of a sudden on the fantasy radar as a possible flex option moving forward now that Winston is under center. He will look to stay hot against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9.
