5 days agoAfter missing three weeks due to injury, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) looked like his old self on Sunday, rushing 20 times for 105 yards (5.3 YPC) and a score while adding one catch for 12 yards in the 23-20 loss to the Texans. Neither Tyler Goodson nor Trey Sermon received a single carry in the contest as Taylor monopolized the rushing duties. The 25-year-old now has five touchdowns in five games played and has gone over 100 total yards rushing and receiving in four straight games he's participated in. The former second-round draft pick will probably be an RB1 again in Week 9, although Minnesota has limited backs to just three rushing touchdowns (two through the air as well) thus far.Source: ESPN
5 days agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner recorded 53 rushing yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in the Week 9 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Conner also caught two of three passes for 16 receiving yards. The Cardinals struggled to establish the run against the stout Dolphins front. Despite this struggle, Conner made critical plays in the fourth quarter and found the end zone, delivering a solid fantasy outing and helping the Cardinals secure the victory. Conner received 20 carries and remains the Cardinals' workhorse. He is set to be a mid- to high-end RB2 when the Cardinals host the Bears in Week 10.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan was forced into the No. 1 role with Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) going down. McMillan didn't appear quite ready for that role as he struggled throughout most of Sunday's game. The rookie wideout hauled in four of his seven targets for 35 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. It didn't seem that McMillan and quarterback Baker Mayfield were on the same page this week. Hopefully some more practice time will help the duo get back on track. McMillan should be in the flex conversation for the Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN
5 days agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Devaughn Vele reeled in all three of his targets for 28 yards in his team's 28-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It was an acceptable performance for the rookie wideout as quarterback Bo Nix spread the ball around effectively -- completing a pass to 11 different Denver pass-catchers, with seven recording at least two targets. Fellow wideout Courtland Sutton was the only Broncos skill player to register more than six (11). While Vele likely wasn't counted on by fantasy managers, it's a disappointing effort against one of the league's least formidable defenses, particularly after he recorded 14 targets over his first two outings. The 26-year-old will get another opportunity to be more involved in Week 9 when he and the Broncos square off against the Baltimore Ravens on the road.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown in the team's 31-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Kincaid finished tied for second on the team in targets (seven), trailing wide receiver Khalil Shakir. His touchdown came from 12 yards out just before halftime. The score saved what was otherwise a mediocre performance on National Tight Ends Day. Fellow tight end Dawson Knox tallied more yards (50) on two receptions. Kincaid will be a low-end TE1 when the Bills host the Miami Dolphins next week.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton delivered an incredible performance during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Otton functioned as the top pass-catching option with the Bucs missing both Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) on Sunday. The young tight end hauled in nine of his 10 targets for 81 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Otton now has 17 receptions for 181 yards and two scores over his last two games. He'll head into a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week. Fantasy managers can go ahead and consider Otton a TE1 now with the Bucs shorthanded on receiving options.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught nine passes for 107 yards in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also rushed once for two yards. Shakir's nine receptions are a career-high, as were his 10 targets. It was the third time in Shakir's three-year career that topped 100 receiving yards. Shakir was involved early and often and led the Bills in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The receiving touchdowns went to Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid. Shakir keeps a steady floor operating from the slot and will be in the flex conversation when the Bills host the Miami Dolphins next week.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has been impressive, especially over the last few weeks. The rookie back has made the most of his chances and carved out a nice role for himself in this offense. On Sunday, Irving rushed nine times for 44 yards while hauling in all seven of his targets for 40 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Irving has now seen nine or more carries in six straight games. Now, Irving is getting involved in the passing game as well, which should only increase his value. Irving is putting himself in the RB2 conversation for next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper caught one pass for three yards on two targets in the team's win over Seattle in Week 8. The veteran played more snaps than last week in his second game with the Bills but trailed Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. Those receivers and tight end Dalton Kincaid were Josh Allen's primary targets. It's difficult for all fantasy-relevant players on the Buffalo offense to succeed at once, and there will be inconsistencies for Cooper and the rest of the wide receiver room. The game script also didn't help Cooper. The Bills held a 17-point lead in the third quarter. He'll be a WR2/3 next week against the Miami Dolphins.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoThe Denver Broncos defensive unit turned in another solid outing in the team's 28-14 blowout of the Carolina Panthers. Don't let the box score fool you, as this game was not as close as it may seem. Carolina scored a touchdown on their opening drive of the game but did not again reach pay-dirt until their last -- deep into garbage time. The Broncos D recorded two sacks and two interceptions -- their second multi-interception effort of the year. Sunday marked the fifth time in eight contests that they've held their opponents to 14 points or less. It was another strong showing for one of the league's tougher defensive units. Denver will line up to take on the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday in Week 9, a much more formidable opponent.Source: ESPN
5 days agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. finally got back on track with a 22-yard touchdown catch in the Week 8 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Harrison Jr. hauled in six catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, which is on par for a WR1-type outing. The Cardinals showed a commitment to scheming up looks for Harrison Jr. to get the ball despite playing against one of the top passing defenses in the NFL. If they continue that commitment, fantasy managers should once again feel confident in starting Harrison Jr. He appears to be valued as a high-end WR2 when the Cardinals host the Chicago Bears in Week 9.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White continues to have little success on the ground. However, White has been able to salvage his fantasy value with his receiving ability. That was the case once again during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. White rushed six times for 29 yards, but hauled in five of his six targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the loss. The Bucs are without their top two wideouts, so as expected they went with the short passing game. White figures to be stuck in this running back committee for the foreseeable future. Although, White still should be a fine PPR option for fantasy managers during next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman caught five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. His score came on a two-yard fade route on Buffalo's first drive. The rookie's five receptions are a career-high. This was the second straight week Coleman earned seven targets. The second-round pick appears to be coming into his own, whether it's by adapting to the NFL game or the arrival of Amari Cooper attracting defenses away. With back-to-back great stat lines, Coleman is moving from boom-or-bust bench piece into the weekly flex conversation.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield showed up ready to play despite losing his top two wide receivers last week. Mayfield didn't miss a step as he completed 37-of-50 passing attempts for three touchdowns with two interceptions in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 29-year-old now has thrown for over 300 yards in four of his last five games. The Bucs aren't going to have Mike Evans (hamstring) or Chris Godwin (ankle) for quite some time, but they've found a way to move the ball without them. He does head into a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week. However, Mayfield has shown no signs of slowing down and is a must-start for fantasy managers.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills running back James Cook rushed 17 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also caught three passes for 22 yards. It was an all-around tremendous effort from Cook, who ran with great vision and agility and plowed through defenders. His scores came in the second half as the Bills played with a lead. Cook has a stranglehold on the Buffalo backfield, despite Ray Davis' emergence in Week 6. Cook will be an RB1 next week against Miami. He scored three touchdowns against the Dolphins in Week 2.Source: RotoBaller
