5 days agoSan Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (ribs) exited during the second half of Sunday's win over the Dallas Cowboys. The team announced that he was questionable to return, but he was not spotted on the field for the remainder of the contest. He finished Week 8 with seven targets, four catches, and 71 receiving yards, plus an additional 15 rushing yards on four attempts. Samuel figures to handle a significant workload moving forward with Brandon Aiyuk (knee) done for the year. Fortunately for Samuel, the 49ers have a Week 9 bye, so he gets a little extra time to rest and recover before his next game. Assuming he suits up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10, he'll rank as a fantasy WR2.Source: Adam Schefter
5 days agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs led his team's receiving corps in catches and yards in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Texans, reeling in four for 109 yards and a score. Downs was the only Colt to amass more than one reception in the contest with quarterback Anthony Richardson completing just 10 of 32 passes, and he nearly scored another touchdown but was down just shy of the end zone. The 23-year-old was also credited with 13 rush yards. Despite the solid effort, the former third-round draft pick will be volatile with such poor quarterback play and hard to trust on a weekly basis. In Week 9, the Colts will face the Vikings who have had seven wideouts record 78 or more receiving yards through seven games, so there's a chance he could have some Flex appeal, especially if Joe Flacco happened to be under center instead of Richardson.Source: ESPN
5 days agoNew England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson rushed for 48 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries during Sunday's Week 8 win over the New York Jets. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 17 receiving yards. Although Stevenson was inefficient on the ground, he made up for it by finding the end zone twice and also converting a two-point conversion. The 26-year-old has now scored at least 17 fantasy points (PPR) in four of his seven games this year, vaulting him back into the high-end RB3 tier for Week 8 against a Tennessee Titans defense that was just gashed by Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoNew England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett relieved rookie Drake Maye (head) during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets. He finished the first half and was eventually declared the quarterback for the second half, too, after Maye was downgraded to out. Brissett finished Week 8 having completed 15 of 24 passes for 132 yards, plus one sack and 11 rushing yards. He failed to score a touchdown, but more importantly, he played turnover-free football and led an efficient game-winning drive near the end of the fourth quarter. In the event that Maye enters concussion protocol and misses Week 9 against the Titans, Brissett would temporarily return to the starting quarterback role. He's still off the fantasy radar in most leagues.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoDespite Kirk Cousins throwing for 276 yards and four touchdown passes on Sunday, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London was not a beneficiary in the 31-26 win over the Bucs. The 23-year-old caught four of six targets for 34 scoreless yards. It was the first time he failed to find the end zone since Week 4, but it was also the seventh straight game in which the 6-foot-4 wideout garnered at least six targets, so he should have no problem bouncing back. The former first-round draft pick will get an opportunity to do so next week when the Falcons take on a weak Cowboys defense in Atlanta.Source: ESPN
5 days agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride caught nine of 11 targets for 124 yards in the Week 8 victory over the Miami Dolphins. It was National Tight Ends Day across the NFL, and McBride stepped up in a big way. The 24-year-old again served as the team's go-to receiver in crucial moments, especially on third downs. He also showcased his athleticism, making plays with his legs after the catch, including a hurdle over a defender during one of the Cardinals' explosive plays. Although McBride still hasn't found the end zone, his high target share keeps him fantasy relevant. McBride remains a TE1 heading into Week 9's matchup against the Chicago Bears.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoAfter missing three weeks due to injury, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) looked like his old self on Sunday, rushing 20 times for 105 yards (5.3 YPC) and a score while adding one catch for 12 yards in the 23-20 loss to the Texans. Neither Tyler Goodson nor Trey Sermon received a single carry in the contest as Taylor monopolized the rushing duties. The 25-year-old now has five touchdowns in five games played and has gone over 100 total yards rushing and receiving in four straight games he's participated in. The former second-round draft pick will probably be an RB1 again in Week 9, although Minnesota has limited backs to just three rushing touchdowns (two through the air as well) thus far.Source: ESPN
5 days agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner recorded 53 rushing yards on 20 carries and a touchdown in the Week 9 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Conner also caught two of three passes for 16 receiving yards. The Cardinals struggled to establish the run against the stout Dolphins front. Despite this struggle, Conner made critical plays in the fourth quarter and found the end zone, delivering a solid fantasy outing and helping the Cardinals secure the victory. Conner received 20 carries and remains the Cardinals' workhorse. He is set to be a mid- to high-end RB2 when the Cardinals host the Bears in Week 10.Source: ESPN.com
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan was forced into the No. 1 role with Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) going down. McMillan didn't appear quite ready for that role as he struggled throughout most of Sunday's game. The rookie wideout hauled in four of his seven targets for 35 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. It didn't seem that McMillan and quarterback Baker Mayfield were on the same page this week. Hopefully some more practice time will help the duo get back on track. McMillan should be in the flex conversation for the Week 9 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN
5 days agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Devaughn Vele reeled in all three of his targets for 28 yards in his team's 28-14 victory over the Carolina Panthers. It was an acceptable performance for the rookie wideout as quarterback Bo Nix spread the ball around effectively -- completing a pass to 11 different Denver pass-catchers, with seven recording at least two targets. Fellow wideout Courtland Sutton was the only Broncos skill player to register more than six (11). While Vele likely wasn't counted on by fantasy managers, it's a disappointing effort against one of the league's least formidable defenses, particularly after he recorded 14 targets over his first two outings. The 26-year-old will get another opportunity to be more involved in Week 9 when he and the Broncos square off against the Baltimore Ravens on the road.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught four passes for 31 yards and a touchdown in the team's 31-10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Kincaid finished tied for second on the team in targets (seven), trailing wide receiver Khalil Shakir. His touchdown came from 12 yards out just before halftime. The score saved what was otherwise a mediocre performance on National Tight Ends Day. Fellow tight end Dawson Knox tallied more yards (50) on two receptions. Kincaid will be a low-end TE1 when the Bills host the Miami Dolphins next week.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton delivered an incredible performance during Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Otton functioned as the top pass-catching option with the Bucs missing both Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (ankle) on Sunday. The young tight end hauled in nine of his 10 targets for 81 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Otton now has 17 receptions for 181 yards and two scores over his last two games. He'll head into a matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs next week. Fantasy managers can go ahead and consider Otton a TE1 now with the Bucs shorthanded on receiving options.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir caught nine passes for 107 yards in the team's 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. He also rushed once for two yards. Shakir's nine receptions are a career-high, as were his 10 targets. It was the third time in Shakir's three-year career that topped 100 receiving yards. Shakir was involved early and often and led the Bills in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. The receiving touchdowns went to Keon Coleman and Dalton Kincaid. Shakir keeps a steady floor operating from the slot and will be in the flex conversation when the Bills host the Miami Dolphins next week.Source: RotoBaller
5 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving has been impressive, especially over the last few weeks. The rookie back has made the most of his chances and carved out a nice role for himself in this offense. On Sunday, Irving rushed nine times for 44 yards while hauling in all seven of his targets for 40 yards in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Irving has now seen nine or more carries in six straight games. Now, Irving is getting involved in the passing game as well, which should only increase his value. Irving is putting himself in the RB2 conversation for next week's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN
5 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper caught one pass for three yards on two targets in the team's win over Seattle in Week 8. The veteran played more snaps than last week in his second game with the Bills but trailed Keon Coleman and Khalil Shakir. Those receivers and tight end Dalton Kincaid were Josh Allen's primary targets. It's difficult for all fantasy-relevant players on the Buffalo offense to succeed at once, and there will be inconsistencies for Cooper and the rest of the wide receiver room. The game script also didn't help Cooper. The Bills held a 17-point lead in the third quarter. He'll be a WR2/3 next week against the Miami Dolphins.Source: RotoBaller
