Seth Lugo lasted five innings in Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Yankees, allowing two earned runs on just two hits, but he walked four batters and only struck out two on the way to earning a no-decision. Lugo posted a better-than-average 5.7% BB% in the regular season so it is uncharacteristic of him to lose his command. The Royals will need to win two in a row in order to extend their season, so if this is Lugo's final game pitched in 2024, it closes out a phenomenal year for the righty. The 34-year-old finished the regular season 16-9 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 15.9% K-BB%.

Giancarlo Stanton went 3-for-5 in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Royals, getting the scoring going with an RBI double in the fourth inning that put the Yankees up 1-0, and later hit a go-ahead solo home run in the eighth that proved to be the eventual game-winner. The 34-year-old even stole a base in the contest after not logging a steal during the entire regular season (114 games). With
Aaron Judge just 1-for-11 through the first three games of the series, Stanton and
Juan Soto have been able to pick up the slack in the middle of the Yankee lineup. They'll look to close out the series on Thursday in Kansas City.

Jose Quintana quieted the Phillies' bats for five innings in Wednesday's 4-1 victory, allowing one unearned run on just two hits and two walks while striking out six batters in the NLDS series-clinching win. The southpaw appeared in the sixth but a leadoff double to
Bryce Harper ended his outing. The 35-year-old has been masterful over his last eight starts, including his two postseason starts, allowing a total of three earned runs in 47 1/3 innings (0.57 ERA), so he has been a big reason the Mets have been rolling. Quintana's next start will come in the NLCS against either the Dodgers or the Padres, both of whom he's faced this season (Padres twice, Dodgers once) and logged a quality start in each of them.

Francisco Lindor came up clutch once again on Wednesday, smacking a go-ahead grand slam in the sixth inning of the series-clinching 4-1 win over the Phillies. The 30-year-old also hit a double, finishing the game 2-for-5 with four RBI and a run scored. The slam was his first home run in seven postseason games thus far and the switch-hitter is 7-for-27 overall (.259) in the playoffs, but he's had a knack for coming up big when the Mets need him the most lately. The 4x All-Star will get a few days of rest before the Mets take on the winner of the Dodgers/Padres series in the NLCS.

Ryan Brasier as the opener of a bullpen game in Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday at Petco Park against the division-rival San Diego Padres. This will be Brasier's fifth opening assignment of the year. The 37-year-old veteran reliever allowed just one run in four innings in his previous four opening assignments. In his two relief appearances in the NLDS against the Padres, he's allowed two earned runs on three hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out one in 2 1/3 innings. Brasier probably won't go more than one inning versus the hot-hitting Friars in this one, so DFS managers should stay away. Right-hander
Landon Knack will most likely be the Dodgers' bulk reliever in this one as they try to stay alive and force a Game 5 back in LA on Friday night.

Oswaldo Cabrera will get the start at first base and will hit eighth for the Yankees in Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Wednesday at Kauffman Stadium against the Kansas City Royals and right-hander
Seth Lugo. Cabrera has only faced Lugo three times in his career and has a single and a strikeout. The 25-year-old made the start in the Game 1 win over the Royals on Saturday and went 1-for-4 with a double and three strikeouts before retreating to the bench for the Game 2 loss on Monday. Cabrera is a switch-hitter but has fared much better from the left side against right-handers in 2024, batting .268 (59-for-220) with all eight of his home runs from that side. He hit just .190 (15-for-79) with no home runs and 20 strikeouts in 84 plate appearances from the right side. Cabrera is a low-upside DSF sleeper on Wednesday near the bottom of the lineup.

Austin Hays is not in the team's starting lineup for Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Wednesday versus the division-rival New York Mets at Citi Field. With Hays on the bench in this must-win game for the Phillies,
Weston Wilson will get the nod in left field and will bat out of the eight-hole against Mets left-hander
Jose Quintana. Wilson should probably be avoided in DFS lineups down in the eight-hole, especially since he's gone hitless with two strikeouts in six career at-bats versus the veteran southpaw Quintana. Hays will retreat to the bench after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in the Game 3 loss on Tuesday. Wilson, 30, hit a nice .284 (25-for-88) during the regular season, but it came with only three long balls, 10 RBI and three steals. He didn't see a plate appearance in the first three games of the series.

Carlos Mendoza said the team wants to see him play in back-to-back games of nine innings before they think about adding him to the postseason roster for the National League Championship Series if they advance past the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series. The 32-year-old veteran and former batting champion has been out since early September due to a fractured right wrist, but facing live pitching is the last box he needs to check before returning. Getting McNeil back for the NLCS would be a nice boost to the Mets, but he wouldn't be guaranteed any starts after struggling in 2024 and missing extended time to end the regular season. He hit just .238 in 2024 and added 12 homers, 44 RBI and five steals in 424 at-bats.

Tanner Bibee will make the start in Game 4 of the American League Division Series on Thursday at Comerica Park against the division-rival Detroit Tigers. In his first career playoff start in the Game 1 win over the Tigers on Saturday at Progressive Field, Bibee went 4 2/3 scoreless innings on four hits while walking one and fanning six. He has plenty of experience facing this Tigers squad, as he toed the rubber against them four times during the regular season in 2024, going 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, 19 strikeouts and only four walks. The 25-year-old will be a popular DFS play on Thursday with only two games on the slate for the Division Series with the National League having an off day. Bibee went 12-8 in his second big-league season this year with a 3.47 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 187:44 K:BB in 173 2/3 frames over 31 starts.

Wheeler was excellent in a no-decision on Saturday, tossing seven shutout innings while giving up only one hit, walking four and striking out nine. If Philadelphia wins on Wednesday and forces a deciding Game 5 on Friday back at Citizens Bank Park, Wheeler would make the start for the Phillies.
