Dameon Pierce (hamstring) were not at practice on Friday, according to DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN. With both running backs in danger of potentially missing Sunday's game,
Cam Akers could get the starting nod. Akers replaced Mixon last weekend when he exited the game due to an ankle injury. On seven carries, Akers tallied 32 yards and caught his lone target for three yards. However, he did lose a fumble. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to the Houston injury report later on Friday, as it should provide more clarity on the situation. If Akers does suit up as the No.1 RB for Houston on Sunday, he should be viewed as a high-end RB2 simply due to the volume he is expected to see.

Michael Wilson wasn't very involved in Week 2 against the Rams. So far, he has recorded just three catches for 36 yards and a touchdown this season. The positive takeaway for fantasy managers is Wilson's snap count—he was on the field for 80% of the team's snaps in Week 1 and 68% in Week 2. Wilson will look to be more involved in Sunday's matchup against the Detroit Lions. Wilson will have a noticeable size advantage over the Lions' defensive backs, which could set him up for another scoring opportunity. However, given his uncertain role in the offense, managers will likely want to avoid starting him in Week 3, as he'd be a touchdown-dependent flex option. Currently rostered in only 12% of leagues, Wilson isn't a player fantasy managers need to rush to add for Week 3.

Justice Hill signed a two-year, $6 million contract extension with the team on Friday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. The 26-year-old has gradually grown into a more significant role in the Baltimore offense every season and is currently on pace to set a new career-high in targets and receptions out of the backfield. So far this season, Hill has logged eight more snaps than
Derrick Henry and caught eight of his 10 targets for 62 receiving yards. He has added 25 yards on the ground on five attempts. Fantasy managers in PPR formats should view Hill as a low-end flex play given his role as a pass-catcher in the Baltimore offense going forward. However, in standard formats, Hill is best left on the waiver wire given the few rushing attempts he sees.

In Week 3, he should have a clear advantage over the Lions' cornerbacks, especially rookie Terrion Arnold, who has struggled early in the season. James Conner turned in another strong performance in Week 2; the veteran back will look to continue his success against the Detroit Lions in Week 3. He seems poised to continue thriving under head coach Jonathan Gannon in Arizona. Since Gannon took over, Conner has averaged over 80 rushing yards per game, a trend that appears set to continue in 2024. As the Cardinals' workhorse, Conner handles more than 20 touches per game to start the season. Impressively, he's averaging 4.5 red zone touches per game and accounts for 80% of the Cardinals' red zone rushing attempts. With the complete trust of the coaching staff, particularly in scoring situations, Conner is expected to remain heavily involved in what should be a closely contested NFC matchup against Detroit. He remains a must-start in all fantasy formats.
