In their first fight, Tybura dominated Spivac and emerged victorious after five rounds. This time, however, Tybura got taken down early in the first round, and submitted with an armbar. In 1:44, Tybura had nine total strikes and zero significant strikes. A win over Spivac would've put Tybura close to the top 5 in the heavyweight division. Spivac managed to take Tybura down early in the first round and eventually landed an armbar. Prior to this bout, Spivac was 3-1 in his last four fights. In 1:44 of action, Spivac landed a takedown and three significant strikes. This win should elevate Spivac at least one spot in the rankings. The fight was initially supposed to be a welterweight contest but Barlow missed weight by a quarter of a pound, so the fight was moved to catchweight. Most fans who watched this fight thought Barlow won convincingly and should have walked out with a unanimous decision, but one judge saw it otherwise, as he gave Veretennikov all three rounds. 3 months agoYana Santos picked up a one-sided decision win over Chelsea Chandler at UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday. Santos took the fight even though Chandler missed weight and in the first round, she outstruck Chandler 38-to-16. Santos ended up dropping Chandler in the second round and then outstruck her 58-to-33 in the third round to win a clear-cut decision. The Russian had snapped her three-fight losing streak with the win and is now 5-5 in the UFC as she saved her job with the victory.Source: UFC
3 months agoQuang Le suffered a decision loss to Chris Gutierrez on the main card of UFC Vegas 95 on Saturday. Le stepped up on just days' notice and was a massive underdog. Le took Gutierrez down twice in the first round by was badly outstruck. He had success in the second round by controlling Gutierrez for over three minutes. But, he appeared to gas out as he was outstruck 32-to-6 in the final round to lose a decision. Gutierrez is now 8-1 as a pro and 0-1 in the UFC.Source: UFC
