2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Curtis Samuel caught a four-yard touchdown pass during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Samuel's score came on his only reception, but he did have three total targets in the contest. The veteran occupied a depth role throughout the 2024 season, routinely operating behind players like Khalil Shakir, Amari Cooper, Keon Coleman, and Mack Hollins. He's under contract with Buffalo through 2026, but he could face some additional competition next year if the Bills pursue a wide receiver addition during free agency or the NFL Draft. As it stands, Samuel can be avoided in most fantasy football leagues.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman caught just one of his four targets for 12 yards during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie endured highs and lows this season, but most fans and fantasy managers would be quick to admit that they expected a little more out of Coleman during his rookie campaign. After all, he was the first pick in the second round of the draft, making him the Bills' highest wide receiver selection since 2014. Through 16 games between the regular season and playoffs, he caught just 32 of his 65 targets (49.2 percent) for 578 yards and four touchdowns. Coleman currently projects to be the Bills' No. 2 receiver alongside Khalil Shakir next year, but Buffalo may be tempted to bring in some star power at the position after coming up short in the playoffs once again.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid caught just two of his four targets for 13 yards during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The second-year tight end had a costly drop as a pass from Josh Allen hit off his hands with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. While some of the blame could be placed on less-than-perfect ball placement from Allen, the bottom line is that Kincaid's drop resulted in a turnover on downs, giving the ball back to the Chiefs, who were able to run out the clock. The Utah product finishes his second year in the NFL with just 50 catches, 519 yards, and two touchdowns through 16 total games between the regular season and playoffs. The first-round pick has not yet lived up to his potential, and he'll likely rank outside the top 12 tight ends heading into 2025 fantasy drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Amari Cooper caught all four of his targets for 33 yards during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Cooper hadn't totaled more than three catches in a single game since Dec. 8, so it was refreshing to see him get more involved on a steady basis Sunday. However, it wasn't quite enough as the Bills once again failed to take down the Chiefs in the playoffs. Cooper finishes his age-30 season with 50 catches, 588 yards, and four touchdowns split between 17 games with the Bills and Browns. He's slated to hit free agency this March, and a reunion with Buffalo seems unlikely given that he underwhelmed during the final stretch of the 2024 campaign.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills wide receiver Mack Hollins caught three of his four targets for 73 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The veteran receiver's biggest play of the game came on a 34-yard touchdown strike from Josh Allen. While Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman were the top names in Buffalo's wide receiver corps this year, Hollins quietly put together a strong campaign. Not only did he register 482 receiving yards between the regular season and playoffs, but he also led the entire Bills roster with six receiving touchdowns. The 31-year-old is slated to hit unrestricted free agency in March, and Hollins' impressive 2024 campaign could encourage prospective teams to view him as a strong No. 3 wide receiver option moving forward.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen completed 22 of his 34 pass attempts for 237 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also took two sacks and rushed 11 times for 39 yards on the ground. Finally, Allen fumbled three times, but he was fortunate that all three loose balls were scooped up by the Bills rather than a Chiefs defender. The MVP candidate played well in the contest, keeping his team in the game until the final seconds. However, it wasn't quite enough as the Chiefs picked up yet another playoff victory over Buffalo. Despite his season falling short of a Super Bowl berth, Allen has established himself as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. He should continue to be viewed as a top option heading into 2025 fantasy football drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoBuffalo Bills running back James Cook rushed 13 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also caught all three of his targets for an additional 49 yards through the air. Given that Cook had just 2.2 yards per carry against the Chiefs back in Week 11, he bounced back in a huge way this Sunday. He was highly efficient on the ground, productive through the air, and carried the Bills to a pair of scores. Simply put, he kept Buffalo in the game until the final seconds. Cook totaled 19 touchdowns between the regular season and playoffs, establishing himself as a steady RB1 option for fantasy football. Even with Ray Davis pushing for more opportunities, Cook should continue to be viewed as a top-10 option at his position heading into 2025 fantasy drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce caught two passes for 19 yards in the 32-29 AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills. The Bills defense made a concerted effort to remove the easy button for Patrick Mahomes, leading to more opportunities for the other Chiefs pass catchers. Despite Kelce being minimally involved, Kansas City did enough to advance to the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans. This year's Super Bowl matchup will be a rematch of the 2023 Super Bowl, which ended with a Chiefs victory. In their last Super Bowl matchup, Kelce caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. The 35-year-old is two touchdowns away from tying Jerry Rice for the most postseason touchdowns of all time, so he could be in for a historic performance. It will be a difficult matchup, considering the Eagles defense was arguably the best in the league this season, but Kelce is known for showing up in big moments.--Joshua Costello - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Chiefs - Twitter

2 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy caught six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills. The rookie showed up in the AFC Championship game, scoring an 11-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Worthy led the Chiefs in catches, receiving yards, and targets in the crucial win to send Kansas City to their third-straight Super Bowl appearance. The 21-year-old has become the most reliable wide receiver for Patrick Mahomes and should be a vital piece of the game plan for the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Worthy will have to contend with the Philadelphia Eagles, who had one of the best defenses in the league this season. The Eagles lost to the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl, so they will have some extra motivation to even the score. Worthy will look to continue being a top option for Mahomes in the biggest game of his life.--Joshua Costello - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Chiefs - Twitter

2 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt handled 17 carries for 64 yards and a touchdown in the 32-29 win over the Buffalo Bills. Hunt also caught one pass for six yards in this contest. The 29-year-old was the clear lead back, finishing the game with 12 more carries than Isiah Pacheco. The veteran running back was the dependable between-the-tackles runner that Kansas City needed him to be in this close victory. Kansas City has now advanced to their third straight Super Bowl in search of the NFL's first three-peat. Hunt was not on the team for their first two championships, but he will play an important role in search of their third. The Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles, who they beat in their 2023 Super Bowl matchup. The Eagles defensive unit was among the best in the league this season, so Hunt will have his work cut out for him in the Super Bowl.--Joshua Costello - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Chiefs - Twitter

2 weeks agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 18 of 26 pass attempts (69%) for 245 yards and a touchdown in the 32-29 AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes also rushed 11 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns. The veteran quarterback completed a 23-yard pass to Xavier Worthy with a little over four minutes left in the fourth quarter to set up first-and-goal. The Chiefs then went on to kick the go-ahead field goal to end that drive. The Kansas City defense did their part, but Mahomes was instrumental on the ground in this crucial win. The 29-year-old will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2024-2025 Super Bowl. Kansas City will have two weeks to prepare for the 2023 Super Bowl rematch. Mahomes and the Chiefs will look to become the first NFL team ever to complete a three-peat.--Joshua Costello - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Chiefs - Twitter

2 weeks agoThe Chicago Bears have added Dennis Allen and Declan Doyle to their coaching staff, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com. Allen will be the Bears' new defensive coordinator while Doyle takes over as their offensive coordinator. These are two flashy hires for the Bears and their new head coach, Ben Johnson. As Johnson rounds out his coaching staff, he will have two highly-regarded coaches working for him. Allen has delivered subpar results as a head coach with the Raiders and Saints, but he was a solid defensive coordinator in Denver and New Orleans. Meanwhile, Doyle is an emerging face in coaching circles at just 28 years old. Interestingly, both Allen and Doyle worked alongside Dan Campbell in New Orleans, so perhaps the Lions' head coach passed along a favorable review of the two coordinators. Campbell and Johnson worked together closely for seven years between Miami and Detroit.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: Courtney Cronin

2 weeks agoWashington Commanders wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus caught four of his five targets for 26 yards during their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Title game. Zaccheaus also caught a two-point conversion in the third quarter. Zaccheaus' five targets matched him with No.2 wideout Dyami Brown. His yardage total was the fourth-most among Washington pass catchers. This was a nice bounce-back showing for Zaccheaus, as he caught just three passes for 19 yards in the wild-card round and did not get on the scoresheet in the divisional round. However, during the final three weeks of the regular season, Zacchaeus was a key part of the offense as he tallied 68.7 yards per game with three touchdowns. Zaccheaus will likely continue to operate as a depth wide receiver if he returns to Washington in 2025.--Andy Smith - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com

2 weeks agoThe Seattle Seahawks are hiring Klint Kubiak as their offensive coordinator, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Kubiak is viewed as a bright, young coach in NFL circles, but his future with New Orleans was uncertain as the Saints plan to bring in a new coaching staff. The 37-year-old has coaching experience in college and the pros, including stints as an NFL offensive coordinator with the Vikings and Saints. He has also held positions with the Broncos and 49ers. Kubiak, who also interviewed with the Browns this offseason before they hired Tommy Rees, was the Seahawks' top choice to replace Ryan Grubb, according to Rapoport. The search and hiring process was reportedly "exhaustive," but in the end, Mike Macdonald makes a key addition to his staff.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: Ian Rapoport
