Kara-France continued to attack and he clipped Erceg with a nasty right hook that put him on the canvas. In 4:04 of action, Erceg landed nine significant strikes. Erceg has now lost two in a row. Kara-France entered the bout coming off back-to-back losses and was looking to get back in the win column. In this fight, however, Kara-France landed a huge overhand left that sat Erceg down and spelt the beginning of the end of the fight. 3 months agoTai Tuivasa suffered a split-decision loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 305. Tuivasa entered the bout on a four-fight losing streak and was a heavy underdog. Tuivasa struggled to get going as he landed just 9 strikes in the first round, 13 in the second and 15 in the third as he was outstruck in all three rounds. It was a disappointing fight from Tuivasa, despite some judge scoring the fight for him. Gamrot entered the fight as a sizeable favorite and had success with the wrestling as he took Hooker down five times and had 4:59 of control time. However, he had a hard time keeping Hooker down and when Hooker got back to his feet he landed the more damaging shots. The Kiwi struggled with Gamrot's wrestling as he was taken down five times, but Hooker was able to land the more damaging shots on the feet. It was a very competitive fight but Hooker was able to land the better shots to edge out the split decision win. 3 months agoIsrael Adesanya suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 305. Adesanya was looking to reclaim his middleweight title and after an even first round, he struggled in the second round as he was taken down three times. However, Adesanya started to find his range and had plenty of success in the third round and the beginning of the fourth. However, Adesanya got rocked and fell to the ground as Du Plessis got ahold of his back and sunk in a submission to force Adesanya to tap. 3 months agoDricus Du Plessis scored a fourth-round submission win over Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 to defend his middleweight title for the first time. The first round was pretty even and in the second round, the South African used his grappling as he took Adesanya down three times and had 3:28 of control time. However, he struggled in the third round and to begin the fourth round as Adesanya started to find his range. Yet, Du Plessis landed some big shots that started to hurt Adesanya and as he got ahold of his back he sunk in a submission and got the win.
