According to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, the Colorado Avalanche are trading right wing Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes in a three-team deal. The Avalanche are acquiring Martin Necas and Jack Drury, while the Hurricanes will also receive Taylor Hall from the Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks will retain half of Rantanen's salary and earn a third-round pick. Rantanen has been a mainstay on the Colorado top line for the majority of the past few seasons and was part of Colorado's Stanley Cup Championship in 2022. That same season, Rantanen tallied a career-high 105 points (55 goals, 50 helpers). This season, Rantanen has scored 25 goals and added 39 helpers across 49 contests. Fantasy managers should expect Rantanen to play on Carolina's top forward unit alongside Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
