Marcus Johansson Exits Early On Wednesday
3 months agoAccording to Jessi Pierce of NHL.com, Minnesota Wild left wing Marcus Johansson (upper body) exited Wednesday's contest early. Pierce noted that the 34-year-old will be out for some time. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status before their next game on Saturday evening against the Nashville Predators. Before exiting, he logged just over 10 minutes of ice time and tallied one shot and one hit. He has not tallied a point in each of his previous four contests. Johansson joins a significant list of Minnesota forwards who are currently sidelined, such as Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) and Jakub Lauko (lower body). If he has to miss an extended period, the Wild will likely promote a forward from the AHL.

Marcus Johansson Added To Injured Reserve
3 months agoMinnesota Wild left wing Marcus Johansson (upper body) was placed on Injured Reserve Thursday. He took an elbow to the face from Edmonton forward Connor McDavid in Wednesday's 5-3 loss, with Wild head coach John Hynes saying after the game that Johansson would likely be out for a while. It is suspected that the Swedish forward is dealing with a concussion. Johansson has picked up 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 44 games this season. His injury means the Wild are now without two of their top left-wingers and three of their top-four defensemen. Marcus Foligno will likely move into the top six on Saturday against Nashville if Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) is not ready to return.

Marcus Johansson Records Season-High Three Points Versus Utah
4 months agoMinnesota Wild left wing Marcus Johansson had his best game of the season on Tuesday against Utah, recording a goal and two assists in a 5-4 shootout win. Two of the points came in the third period as Minnesota extended the game with a goal inside the final minute. The productive outing ended a four-game point drought for Johansson. 2024-25 has been an inconsistent campaign for Johansson, but he's part of a talented forwards group and tends to heat up occasionally. The Swedish veteran boasts 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in 27 games for the season.

Marcus Johansson A Game-Time Call On Tuesday
6 months agoMinnesota Wild left wing Marcus Johansson (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision on Tuesday versus St. Louis. He's considered iffy for the game after missing the morning skate. The Swedish veteran kicked off the campaign with a two-assist effort in a 3-2 victory over Columbus but has gone scoreless in back-to-back games. Minnesota is set to go with seven defensemen on Tuesday if Johansson won't be ready to play. Rookie Liam Ohgren is expected to fill in for Johansson on the second line. The 20-year-old skated on the fourth line while making his season debut on Sunday versus Winnipeg, so his fantasy stock will get a major boost on Tuesday if he moves up to the top six in Johansson's absence.
