The New York Jets have requested to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy for their head-coaching position, according to a source. The Jets finished third in the AFC East with a 5-12 record in a highly disappointing season with a healthy quarterback Aaron Rodgers and fired former head coach Robert Saleh after just five games in 2024. Nagy had two playoff appearances during a four-year tenure as the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 2018-21, but he more recently helped the Chiefs win Super Bowl LVIII and has been a big reason why the Chiefs offense has continued to find ways to win. If Nagy is hired to be the next head coach of the Jets, he'll have serious rebuilding to do at the QB position first, with future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers likely done in New York and no clear young replacement ready to take over.--Keith Hernandez
