3 months agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (shoulder) will be able to play on Monday night despite being listed as questionable against the Pistons. Brunson went off for 44 points in just 29 minutes on Sunday against the Bucks, but he left the game early to get treatment on his shoulder. He'll be able to play on the second game of the team's back-to-back after averaging 27.2 points, 6.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 34.2 minutes per game over his six most recent contests. If Brunson is limited at all, there could be more work for Miles McBride and Cameron Payne, but it looks like the rotation should be fairly typical with Brunson available.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

1 week agoAccording to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) is no longer in a walking boot. He was also spotted doing some "light shooting." The 28-year-old sprained his right ankle in a meeting with the Lakers on March 6. As a result, it was announced Brunson would miss at least a few weeks. Fortunately, it seems he's moving in the right direction. Still, the Knicks are looking for a championship, so the team won't put him back on the court until he's fully-healthy. While Brunson is on the shelf, Miles McBride, averaging 14.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 43.1% shooting from deep in seven starts this season, should continue to roll with the first five. Precious Achiuwa, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart should also see a bump in scoring behind Karl-Anthony Towns.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoAccording to ESPN's Shams Charania, New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) will miss time after suffering a sprained right ankle in Thursday's overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He will be re-evaluated in two weeks. The 28-year-old has had a fantastic 2024-25 campaign, averaging 26.1 points, 7.4 assists, and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 38.8% from behind the arc. With the Knicks gearing up for a deep postseason run, the team certainly won't rush him back, meaning he may be out a little longer. While Brunson is sidelined, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart should all receive more scoring chances. Precious Achiuwa and Miles McBride may also split time in the starting lineup, although both should be more productive without Brunson on the floor.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 weeks agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) is ruled out for Friday's matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. Brunson suffered what appeared to be a right ankle sprain during overtime in Thursday's 113-109 loss to the Lakers. He exited the game before it concluded with 1:20 remaining due to the injury. Despite suffering the setback, the 28-year-old posted 39 points, 10 assists, and four rebounds across 41 minutes on the floor. After receiving negative X-rays on his right ankle, Brunson could still miss a couple of games, but it appears he won't be out long-term. Cameron Payne and Miles McBride will likely see expanded roles while the Knicks' star guard is on the shelf.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller

2 months agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (shoulder) will play on Wednesday against the 76ers. The 28-year-old injured his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Milwaukee Bucks. However, he still felt good enough to end the day with 44 points. As usual, Brunson is a must-start in any fantasy format. But with Karl-Anthony Towns (thumb) ruled out, Brunson could surpass his usual fantasy expectations.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
