Eagles Open Britain Covey's Practice Window
2 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) is having his practice window opened on Wednesday ahead of the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders. The 27-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve for the second time this season after suffering a neck injury in Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens. Covey's injuries have limited him to just five games this season. In those five games, he's hauled in seven receptions for 34 yards and returned five punts for 46 yards. It's unclear if the team is looking to activate him ahead of Sunday's game, but he could potentially return for the Super Bowl if Philadelphia advances.

Britain Covey Returns To Full Practice
2 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) was a full participant at practice to kick off their week of Super Bowl prep. The Utah product is working back from his second stint on injured reserve this season. Covey's first stay on IR came in late September for a shoulder injury. He'd eventually work his way back to the field in Week 12 but played just two weeks before sustaining a neck ailment that's kept him from action since. The team opened his practice window two weeks ago, though Wednesday was his first full session. The 27-year-old is not heralded for his pass-catching chops but is better known for his work as a kick returner -- a position he held for Philly over the past two seasons. If he can get healthy enough to suit up for Sunday's outing against the Kansas City Chiefs, that's likely the role he'll operate in.

Britain Covey Out For Eagles, Cam Jurgens Questionable
2 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) has been ruled out for the NFC Championship game on Sunday against the division-rival Washington Commanders, while center/guard Cam Jurgens (back) is listed as questionable. Covey was limited in practice all week but will not return from Injured Reserve. However, the 27-year-old could be ready to play in a few weeks if the Eagles are victorious this weekend and advance to the Super Bowl. Covey isn't fantasy relevant when active, as he caught only seven of eight targets for 34 yards and no touchdowns in five regular-season games in 2024 in his second year in the league. The 25-year-old Jurgens missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday but was limited on Friday, giving him a chance to play. If he's inactive on Sunday, expect Nick Gates to start under center for the Eagles.

Britain Covey Ruled Out For Week 14
4 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (neck) put in a limited practice on Friday but was ruled out for the Week 14 contest on Sunday against the visiting Carolina Panthers. Covey will now set his sights on being available for the team in Week 15 when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Eagles will be without the 27-year-old for receiver depth this weekend, but they will be getting receiver DeVonta Smith back from a hamstring ailment that kept him out of the last two games. It's positive news after the team placed tight end Dallas Goedert (knee) on Injured Reserve. With Covey out, Cooper DeJean and Ainias Smith will fight for snaps as the No. 3 receiver in Philly with Jahan Dotson. Covey has not been on the fantasy radar at all in 2024 in his second year in the NFL, as he's caught only seven passes for 34 yards in his five games.

Britain Covey Has Broken Scapula, Expected To Be Sidelined Six Weeks
6 months agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver Britain Covey (shoulder) was placed on Injured Reserve this week, meaning he will have to miss at least the next four games. However, it was revealed on Thursday that he suffered a broken scapula during the Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints, and he is expected to be out for at least six weeks. He's not expected to need surgery. While Covery was not expected to be a significant contributor on offense, injuries to A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) would've put him as a top option in the passing game in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If neither Brown nor Smith can suit up, tight end Dallas Goedert will likely operate as Jalen Hurts' No. 1 target, and wideouts Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson will see expanded roles.
