Connor Zary Out Indefinitely
3 months agoCalgary Flames forward Connor Zary (knee) will be out indefinitely. Zary will not need surgery to address a knee injury he sustained on Tuesday against Anaheim, but he will miss significant time. The 23-year-old sophomore enjoyed a hot spell last month and has picked up 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 40 games. Calgary placed Zary on Injured Reserve on Friday and called up Rory Kerins from the minors in a corresponding move. However, Kerins is projected to be a healthy scratch on Saturday against L.A. Andrei Kuzmenko will take over Zary's spot on the third line. Kuzmenko has been ineffective for most of the season, and fantasy managers should avoid him.

Connor Zary Departs Thursday's Game Early
2 days agoCalgary Flames center Connor Zary (knee) departed Thursday's contest early. Zary collided with Dallas winger Mikko Rantanen in the final frame. He was in pain before exiting the contest. Zary missed time earlier in the season with a knee injury as well and could be facing another extended absence. Fantasy managers should monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Saturday evening against the Edmonton Oilers. If Zary were to miss time, Yegor Sharangovich will likely re-join the starting nine. Over his previous five contests, Zary has tallied three points (one goal) with 15 shots on goal. Through 54 games this season, Zary has found the back of the net 13 times and added 14 helpers. Sharangovich could have value in deeper formats if he takes Zary's place on the top forward line.

Connor Zary Suspended For Two Games
2 weeks agoCalgary Flames forward Connor Zary will sit out the next two games due to a suspension. He was suspended for two games for elbowing Vancouver Canucks defenseman Elias Pettersson during Wednesday's matchup. Zary's suspension will start on Friday against the Colorado Avalanche, and he will also miss Monday's clash against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 23-year-old will be eligible to rejoin the lineup on March 18 against the New York Rangers. Recent weeks haven't gone well for Zary, but he's had a solid sophomore campaign in general. Over 49 outings, Zary has registered 12 goals and 24 points. With Mikael Backlund (upper body) nursing an injury, Calgary might be without two regular forwards on Friday. Adam Klapka is currently the only extra healthy forward on the roster.

Connor Zary Available Sunday
1 month agoCalgary Flames forward Connor Zary (knee) will return to the lineup on Sunday against the San Jose Sharks. He has been unavailable for 15 games due to a knee injury. The injury has put a dent in an otherwise promising campaign. Zary sits on 10 goals and 22 points with 41 games played. He has skated on the second line during practices, and a spot on the second power-play unit awaits Zary on Sunday. Defenseman Kevin Bahl (upper body) is also poised to re-enter the lineup against the Sharks after being activated from Injured Reserve alongside Zary.
