Cody Bellinger Out Tuesday
6 years agoIn a move that was widely expected, the Los Angeles Dodgers will have outfielder Cody Bellinger (knee) sit Tuesday's game against the Cincinnati Reds. The 23-year-old was hit by a pitch on the knee on Monday night and was removed soon thereafter. While X-rays returned out to be negative, he was considered day-to-day and will not play Tuesday. Bellinger has had an electric start to the new season, hitting .433 with nine home runs and 23 RBI in 18 games. Expect his time sidelined to be brief, as the Dodgers appear to have dodged a major bullet. Alex Verdugo will start in right and bat fifth, while Max Muncy will start at first and bat third.
