Byron Buxton Hit By Pitch, Tests Negative
5 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (wrist) was taken out of the game early on Friday after being hit by a pitch, but manager Rocco Baldelli said that tests "came back negative." Buxton was hitless in his two plate appearances before leaving, but the big news is that his injury doesn't appear to be serious. He could return to the lineup as soon as Saturday, but check back to see if he's in there. Buxton is hitting .266/.324/.527 with nine home runs, 40 runs, 38 RBI and 10 stolen bases in his 227 plate appearances in 2019. His blend of speed and power makes him attractive in all leagues. Buxton has disappointed many a fantasy owner in the past, but as long as he stays healthy he should put up numbers for this first-place Twins team.
