BALLER MOVE: Add Immediately in All Leagues
ANALYSIS: The moment we've been waiting for has finally arrived. Prospectors waiting for the arrival of Oscar Taveras since his incredible 2012 minor league campaign had to suffer through an injury plagued 2013 and an overcrowded outfield in April-May of 2014. There's finally a spot for Taveras and he'll make his debut today, Saturday May 31st, 2014. Taveras is one of the rare prospects that absolutely needs to be owned, in all leagues. Unlike George Springer, another uber-talented prospect, Taveras is a much more complete hitter who can consistently put the bat on the ball and can be counted on to bat near .300. Unlike Springer, Taveras has little to no speed on the bases. So this begs the question: what is he actually gonna do in the majors? No one really knows, but here's what you can expect. You can expect him to bat in the top 5 slots of the lineup in an effort to jump start a struggling offense. You can expect him to strikeout less than 15% of the time (which is incredible for a rookie) and consistently put the ball in play with solid contact. You can reasonably expect an upside of .300-15-60 the rest of the season, which is rosterable in the shallowest leagues starting.....right now!
