ANALYSIS: Herrera came into Sunday's game against the Rays scorching hot, having gone 14 for his last 33, but with only three RBI and six runs over that span. While he did go 0-for-3 on Sunday, he still managed to draw two walks and score a run to increase his OBP to an impressive .389. He is lacking in the power department as he is still looking for his first home run of the season after hitting at least 14 the previous two seasons, but his slugging percentage is a healthy .429, so his power stroke should return soon.
Manager Gabe Kapler was questioned after Herrera was left out of the Opening Day lineup. It was thought that he could lose some playing time given that Rhys Hoskins is playing everyday in left and the Phillies still need to find at-bats for Aaron Altherr and Nick Williams. However, with Altherr hitting .083, Herrera likely won't be ceding playing time and could make for solid outfield depth in mixed-leagues.
