NFL DFS Value Plays: Week 14 Bargain Bin for DraftKings, FanDuel, Yahoo Includes Sam Darnold, Isaac Guerendo, Marvin Harrison Jr., more

Will Levis - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Juan's top NFL DFS sleepers and DFS value plays for Week 14 of 2024. These DFS bargains are cheap on FanDuel, DraftKings, Yahoo daily fantasy football contests.

Welcome to the Week 14 main slate edition of RotoBaller's NFL DFS Bargain Bin for the 2024 NFL season, where the goal is to touch on some potentially mispriced players across the industry who find themselves in favorable matchups and/or suddenly expanded roles.

Each week, I’ll give you my thoughts on where there may be some value spots to exploit. On this 14th main slate of the 2024 campaign, I'm glad to report that value-salary players are abundant on Yahoo, FanDuel, and DraftKings.

In addition to offering multiple candidates at each position, I'll list at least one more player to consider, along with some site-specific value plays when applicable.

NFL DFS Bargain Bin Intro

Before we go NFL DFS Bargain Bin hunting, here are a few particulars about format and content.

The nature of the beast with value plays is at least a modest amount (and sometimes substantially more) of risk. Therefore, the Bargain Bin may be a bit more of a roller-coaster ride on some slates than your typical “tout” article!

Naturally, that doesn’t mean there isn’t an upside to be had. All of these selections are, therefore, suitable for GPPs and can also often serve as solid cash-game plays while often helping you accommodate multiple higher-priced studs into your lineup.

Typically, I’ll suggest players who are value-priced across three major DFS sites (DraftKings, FanDuel, and Yahoo). However, there are certainly occasions where one or more sites price a player significantly lower than others. Whenever possible, I’ll typically at least note those players as an “XYZ site special.”

This article is by no means intended to serve as an exhaustive list of all value options for the week. Rather, it’s meant to take a deeper dive into those I feel offer some of the best combinations of savings and upside.

The goal is to recommend truly affordable players, as opposed to say a player priced just $300-$400 away from the highest-priced option at his position. I don’t have set-in-stone price limits in mind for each site, but I do consider legitimate affordability a very important criterion.

Quarterback DFS Value Plays

Sam Darnold, MIN vs. ATL | DK: $6,100, FD: $7,600, Yahoo: $28

Darnold had a bit of a worrisome stretch in Weeks 9 and 10 where it seemed like he might be turning back into a pumpkin, throwing a combined five interceptions in those contests. However, the veteran signal-caller has bounced back since, throwing two touchdowns apiece in each of the next three contests without a single pick.

Darnold has at least 20 completions in five consecutive contests as well, and he has all his key weapons healthy now that T.J. Hockenson appears back from last season's knee injury. The veteran signal-caller gets a solid matchup in Week 14 as well, considering the Falcons have allowed a 21:7 TD:INT and have recorded the league's fewest sacks -- 15 -- by a wide margin.

Will Levis, TEN vs. JAX | DK: $5,000, FD: $6,600, Yahoo: $20

Levis was solid as a value suggestion in Week 13, producing 16.2 DK/FD/Yahoo points while throwing two touchdown passes for the third time in four games. The second-year signal-caller has over 15 fantasy points on all three sites in all four games since returning from a shoulder injury, and Sunday, he draws a matchup favorable for a continuation of his strong stretch of play.

The Jaguars have surrendered the second-most touchdown passes (24) and the second-most passing yards per game on the road (293.7) this season. Jacksonville has also conceded the second-highest yards per completion on the road (12.2), which bodes well for Levis's prospects, considering his downfield weapons and the fact he's not averse to taking risks with the deep ball.

Running Back DFS Value Plays

Tyrone Tracy Jr., NYG vs. NO | DK: $5,800, FD: $6,600, Yahoo: $24

Tracy saw the game script conspire against him on Thanksgiving against the Cowboys, but he still scored a rushing TD on one of his 11 touches. The rookie running back should be getting more opportunities in this home matchup where the Giants shouldn't be at risk of falling behind by a significant amount, if at all.

Tracy has already recorded a trio of 100-yard efforts since moving into a legitimate role, and he's recorded at least 66 rushing yards in four of the five games he's seen double-digit carries.

The Saints could well facilitate one of his better performances, considering they've allowed 136 rushing yards per game, including 134.3 in the last three. New Orleans has also surrendered 5.2 yards per carry and 13 rush TDs to RBs, boosting Tracy's case at very reasonable salaries.

Isaac Guerendo, SF vs. CHI | DK: $5,400, FD: $5,200, Yahoo: $10

Guerendo is undoubtedly going to be chalky across all three sites, as he's the last man standing in San Francisco's backfield. Moreover, he's proved capable of taking advantage of expanded opportunities already as a rookie, having recorded 99- and 85-yard tallies in Weeks 6 and 8, respectively, on a combined 24 carries in those contests.

Guerendo also scored a rushing touchdown on one of his four carries against the Bills in Week 13 after Christian McCaffrey (knee) and Jordan Mason (ankle) both went down, and he's now primed to handle a true lead-back role against a Bears defense that's been vulnerable to the run all season -- Chicago is allowing 144.7 rushing yards per road game, along with 4.9 yards per carry and 10 rushing TDs to RBs.

ALSO CONSIDER:

  • Tony Pollard, TEN vs. JAX | DK: $6,400, FD: $7,500, Yahoo: $24

Wide Receiver DFS Value Plays

Marvin Harrison Jr., ARI vs. SEA | DK: $6,000, FD: $6,800, Yahoo: $23

Head coach Jonathan Gannon had pledged to get Harrison more involved last week, and that held in the form of a 12-target tally for the star rookie receiver.

Harrison wasn't exactly efficient with those opportunities, as he only brought in five of those passes. Yet, he did record his seventh touchdown grab of his career on a tough catch in the back of the end zone. There's little doubt he should command plenty of Kyler Murray's attention again in this critical rematch with the Seahawks.

Harrison had a modest three catches in his first meeting with Seattle in Week 12, but he gained a respectable 47 yards with those opportunities. Seattle has allowed 12 receiving touchdowns to wide receivers, and the Cardinals will treat this game with utmost urgency, considering they've fallen a game behind the Seahawks in the NFC West standings and are further encumbered by the fact they've already taken one loss to Mike Macdonald's squad.

DeVonta Smith, PHI vs. CAR | DK: $5,800, FD: $7,400, Yahoo: $24

Smith was back to fully practicing by Wednesday after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury. The veteran speedster is still seeking his first 100-yard game of the campaign, but he does have four touchdown receptions across his 41 catches, as well as seven receptions of 20+ yards.

The Panthers have been famously poor against the run, but they've also been beatable through the air. Carolina has given up 10.5 yards per completion on the road and 11 receiving touchdowns to wideouts, along with an elevated 71.1 completion rate when traveling as well. While Smith is always left best for tournaments due to the volatility his production sometimes experiences, his big-play ability puts him in play every time at his salaries.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, TEN vs. JAX | DK: $4,700, FD: $6,200, Yahoo: $21

While it's true that Westbrook-Ikhine has to experience touchdown regression at some point, there's no denying that the wideout currently offers plenty of upside at his salaries due to his knack for the end zone. However, it's also worth noting the veteran pass-catcher is more than just a one-trick pony, as he has 20 catches overall and only two drops on the season.

Westbrook-Ikhine has also seen between five and eight targets in four of his last five games, including three straight. In addition to the Jaguars' vulnerabilities against the pass, especially on the road, already cited in Levis's entry, it's also worth noting Jacksonville has surrendered the fourth-most receiving yards (2,177) to wideouts, along with 13 touchdown catches.

ALSO CONSIDER:

Tight End DFS Value Plays

T.J. Hockenson, MIN vs. ATL | DK: $4,300, FD: $6,300, Yahoo: $17

Hockenson made his delayed season debut five games ago after suffering ACL and MCL tears on Christmas Eve last season, and he's already worked his way up past 40 snaps in one game. The veteran also has 72- and 114-yard efforts on the board already, and he's averaging just over six targets per contest despite not playing a full allotment of snaps in any contest thus far.

The Falcons have been vulnerable against the pass, as outlined in Darnold's entry, which gives Hockenson a chance to capitalize. Additionally, Atlanta has surrendered a 54-543-3 line and 72% catch rate to tight ends, and Hockenson has a solid 74.2% showing in that category himself over his first five contests, the second-highest of his career.

Grant Calcaterra, PHI vs. CAR | DK: $3,500, FD: $4,300, Yahoo: $10

Dallas Goedert has missed the first two practices of the week with the knee injury he suffered in Week 13 against the Ravens, and he's previously been labeled as week-to-week, meaning he's expected to miss this game, at minimum. Calcaterra, therefore, appears headed for a Week 14 start, and he's already proved capable of offering solid production with additional snaps.

Calcaterra managed respective 4-67 and 3-58 lines back in Weeks 6 and 8 when Goedert was sidelined due to a hamstring injury, and he also produced a five-catch effort versus the Jaguars in Week 9. The third-year pro could be in line for another fantasy-friendly effort in Week 14, as the Panthers have allowed a league-high 17.3 DK and 14.5 FD and Yahoo points per game to tight ends on the strength of a 67-756-9 line.

ALSO CONSIDER:

  • Kyle Pitts, ATL at MIN | DK: $4,100, FD: $5,300, Yahoo: $12
  • Juwan Johnson, NO at NYG | DK: $3,400, FD: $5,400, Yahoo: $11
