NFL DFS GPP Stacks for FanDuel, DraftKings (Super Bowl)

Matt Terelle's NFL DFS stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings tournaments in the Super Bowl. These DFS GPP stacks are worth considering for daily fantasy sports lineups.

Hey there RotoBallers! With the end of the NFL regular season, there aren't any season-long league concerns left for us fantasy gamers. That makes Super Bowl DFS contests the perfect way to scratch that itch one last time before the 2020 season kicks off. Since there are only two teams left, the stacking options are limited for the big game on Sunday but we can still dive into some of the options.

The goal of this weekly column will be to locate some of the best DFS stacks each week. Stacking, or pairing a quarterback with one of his pass-catchers, is a great way to maximize the number of points scored. This method is generally viewed as a strategy in tournaments, but I also have no problem using safe, high-floor stacks in cash games, as well.

This article will center on games across both DraftKings and FanDuel. Each stack will reference two pass-catchers along with their quarterback. If you feel strongly about how an offense will perform in a given week then consider loading up on several offensive players from that offense. All references to team defense DVOA come from Football Outsiders while cornerback and wide receiver matchups and grade references come from Pro Football Focus.

Super Bowl DFS Tournament Stacks

Kansas City Chiefs

This Super Bowl matchup is certainly intriguing as it pits a dominant Chiefs offense against an excellent 49ers Defense. While the Chiefs are certainly the more explosive offense, the tough matchup should even out ownership rates for Sunday. Patrick Mahomes remains an elite play on Sunday despite his opponent. The star quarterback faced a difficult slate of opposing defenses this season and he definitely has the talent to overcome yet another tough matchup.

The top (chalk) stack will be a Mahomes-Tyreek Hill or Mahomes-Travis Kelce pairing. Hill actually draws the top matchup of the Kansas City wide receivers as he should avoid Richard Sherman on close to 75% of his routes. Sherman lined up on the left side on 98% of the snaps during the regular season so he is unlikely to follow Hill around the formation. Hill has multiple-touchdown upside anytime he takes the field, even against San Francisco.

Kelce faces a tough task as he will square off against a 49ers defense that allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points per game to the tight end position. As such, he isn't a must-play, although he is still a quality option as the 1B to Hill's 1A in the explosive Kansas City aerial attack.

A less-popular stack would be pairing Mahomes with running back Damien Williams. Usually, a running back/quarterback stack is suboptimal but Kansas City likes to feature Williams in the passing game. Williams has seven catches for 65 yards and a touchdown in KC's two playoff games and has found the end zone as a receiver twice over his past four games (playoffs included). Look for Andy Reid to draw up some plays to get the ball in Damien's hands in space.

San Francisco 49ers

Jimmy Garoppolo should be fresh as he's only been asked to throw 27 passes in his team's two playoff wins, including just eight in his Conference Championship win over the Packers two weeks ago. I expect him to top that two-week total in the Super Bowl as the Chiefs have the offensive firepower to force the 49ers to air it out. The Chiefs were solid against quarterbacks during the regular season, allowing just the 20th-most fantasy points per game to the position. While not a great matchup, it is much more favorable than what Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs face against the 49er defense.

A Jimmy G/George Kittle stack is a great place to start when filling out lineups this weekend. While it is certainly feasible to fit both Kelce and Kittle in the same lineup, the presence of Kelce as a second elite tight end will keep Kittle's ownership levels down at least somewhat. Kansas City was good at limiting opposing passing attacks during the regular season but they were vulnerable against enemy tight ends as they allowed the fourth-most fantasy points per game to the position. Kittle is one of the few stars on the slate with a true plus matchup ahead of him in the Super Bowl.

Deebo Samuel is a versatile star in the making who is just as dangerous on the ground as he is through the air. Deebo will draw primary coverage from weak-link KC cornerback Breshaud Breeland, who earned just a 43.9 grade from Pro Football Focus during the regular season. Don't worry about volume concerns as the Chiefs should force San Francisco to pass more than usual.

As a dart-throw tournament option, consider San Francisco slot receiver Kendrick Bourne in a stack with Garoppolo. Bourne will mostly line up across from slot corner Kendall Fuller, who earned a 55.3 grade from PFF and allowed 0.36 fantasy points per route covered. Bourne isn't a high volume guy but he emerged as a dangerous weapon for the 49ers during the regular season as he found the end zone five times on just 45 targets.

Thanks for reading, go win some money this weekend RotoBallers!
