NBA DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – FanDuel Advice for 1/25

All throughout the 2014-15 campaign, RotoBaller will be giving you the top NBA DFS lineup picks at the guard, forward and center positions as well as top sleepers for the day. Below are our favorite FanDuel picks for January 25th, 2015.

Keep in mind, fantasy basketball is a fickle game when it comes to injured players, so be sure to check all lineups prior to tip-off. If you want to chat about your roster picks, check out the DFS chat room at the bottom of this post.

Worth the Investment

Klay Thompson (GSW, SG) - $8,100

Thompson made history Friday night. He scored 37 points in a quarter and has made it difficult to suggest any guard over him just two days removed. Thompson could have easily put up 60 points if head coach Steve Kerr had left him out there for a few more plays. However, the 52 point game with two blocks, four steals, five assists and two rebounds has to indicate that even if Thompson does cool down in his Sunday matchup against Boston, the ceiling is still extremely high for the rising super star who has most likely punched his ticket to the All Star Game with this showing.

Thompson has been putting up consistent numbers all year. His Friday performance raises his scoring to 22.6 points per game, with 3.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 block per game. Thompson has become a stat-sheet stuffer and we can only hope he will have just a fraction of the magic flowing within him to duplicate.

Honorable Mentions: Brandon Jennings (DET, PG), Victor Oladipo (ORL, SG)

Kawhi Leonard (SAS, SF) - $8,000

Leonard is back in uniform and will be the most fantasy productive Spur for the rest of the season and foreseeable future. As Leonard brings down the workload and production of teammates Tim Duncan and Danny Green, he should be able to provide solid production in multiple categories. Since his return from injury, Leonard has averaged 16.0 points, 1.8 steals and 9.2 rebounds. Against the Nuggets on January 20th and the Lakers on January 23rd, Leonard was able to grab 15 and 14 rebounds respectively.

Leonard should be a valuable pick on Sunday against the Milwaukee Bucks, a team that struggles in frontcourt capability. Feel safe deploying Leonard in your lineups from here on out. Barring injury, Leonard could very well be a top-ten fantasy talent.

Honorable Mentions: Paul Millsap (ATL, PF), Greg Monroe (DET, PF)

DeAndre Jordan (LAC, C) - $8,300

Jordan has been an absolute force on the glass this year. With Blake Griffin moving further out of the paint on his shot attempts this year, Jordan has been able to shore up his production on the glass. His shot blocking ability only falls short to that of Anthony Davis. Jordan’s 2.3 blocks per game are paired up with his 10.1 points and 13.4 rebounds per game. His scoring has also seen a slight uptick as of late, averaging 13.4 points in his last seven games.

Jordan should have no problem providing great big man production against the fast paced game that the Suns will aim to play against the Clippers. With the second highest pace in the league, the Suns will provide plenty of rebounding opportunities for Jordan. Look for him to have a big night Sunday.

Honorable Mentions: Nikola Vucevic (ORL, C), Al Horford (ATL, C)

Top Sleeper

Jameer Nelson (DEN, PG) - $4,400

After a short stint in Boston, Nelson looks to be due for a solid role as the backup to Ty Lawson in Denver. Due to Lawson’s suspected DUI arrest on Friday, Nelson stepped in as the starting point guard against the Celtics and performed extremely well in his role. Nelson scored 23 points and seven assists.

Lawson’s situation should play out over the weekend, and his availability for Sunday’s game against the Wizards should be announced well ahead of time. Pay attention to the reports and consider playing Nelson in your lineups if Lawson is indeed unable to suit up. Make the best out of the bad situation here and possibly come away with some valuable fantasy points for a low investment on the veteran point guard.

Honorable Mentions: Donatas Motiejunas (HOU, PF), Timofey Mozgov (CLE, C)
