NBA DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks - Today's Top Lineups (1/28/24)

Isaiah Stewart - NBA DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball Rankings, Injury News - rotoballer icon

Today's top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel on January 28, 2024. John's NBA DFS sleeper picks for building winning DFS lineups.

It's a Sunday in the NBA and we have a rather small three-game slate to break down. I hope you all had a fantastic start to 2024, and let's head forward with a massive win and get our bankrolls prepared for the long haul.

With it being such a small slate, we won't be seeing any teams on a back-to-back tonight. Let's see how that affects some of our lineups and how we want to attack this slate.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/28/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 6:00 PM EST on FanDuel and DraftKings.

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Scottie Barnes, TOR vs. ATL – PG/SF ($9,000 DK; $9,300 FD)

I'll start things off with Scottie Barnes tonight. There aren't many guys left of that Raptors "core" they were seemingly building after 2019's championship run. Nevertheless, they're sticking to their guns and building around Scottie Barnes. Barnes gets a good matchup against the Hawks today. He'll be running the point guard position, where the Hawks rank 27th in efficiency against the position (30.0). Barnes projects to 20.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 5.46 assists in this one.

Alex Caruso, CHI vs. POR – PG/SG ($5,600 DK; $6,200 FD)

I'll take a look at Alex Caruso next. Caruso has seen a usage increase in the absence of Zach LaVine, and a solid fantasy point boost on both sites in the same period. While his projected usage rate still isn't anything to write home about at 15.58%, it's worth noting that he does project to 14.67 points, 3.75 rebounds, and 3.78 assists while primarily working out of the shooting guard spot, where the opposing Blazers rank 30th in efficiency (26.5).

Others to consider: Jalen Suggs, Bruce Brown

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

RJ Barrett, TOR vs. ATL – SG/SF ($7,400 DK; $7,400 FD)

I'll head back to the Raptors tonight. The formula is pretty simple here on such a small slate, the Raptors are relatively depleted in terms of talent and usage and are in a very strong matchup against a Hawks team that ranks 28th in overall defensive efficiency. Barrett has taken a step forward production-wise since joining Toronto, and projects to 21.65 points, 6.01 rebounds and 3.44 assists in tonight's matchup.

Saddiq Bey, ATL vs. TOR – SF ($5,700 DK; $6,100 FD)

I'll flip the court and take a look at Saddiq Bey next. Bey has been a really interesting case in 2023, with some crazy variance on a game-to-game basis. Given the matchup, I think we see one of Bey's better games tonight. Bey takes on a Raptors team that ranks 19th in defensive efficiency (114.4) and ranks dead last in defensive efficiency against small forwards (28.2). Bey projects to 13.78 points, 6.97 rebounds, and 1.81 assists.

Others to consider: DeMar DeRozan, Jabari Walker

Today's DraftKings, FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Nikola Vucevic, CHI vs. POR - C ($7,900 DK; $8,000 FD)

I'll start things off at the center position with an article (and model) favorite, Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic, along with the majority of this Bulls team, have a great matchup tonight against the Blazers, who rank 21st in defensive efficiency (114.7). They also rank 25th in defensive efficiency against the center position (38.2). Vucevic projects to a double-double tonight, logging 18.98 points and 12.66 rebounds as well as 3.72 assists.

Thaddeus Young, TOR vs. ATL – C ($4,900 DK; $5,600 FD)

I'll wrap things up with my final Raptor of the night in Thaddeus Young, now with Vucevic being my top option at the center position, and him not being very expensive, there isn't a huge need to grab a value option. However, if you're planning on going that route, Young is your guy. Young has had nearly identical stat lines in his last two games, going for 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists in each of them. Tonight he projects to just 5.11 points, 2.97 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. I believe my model is shortchanging him a bit here, as he projects to just 15 minutes there, while he's been playing north of 20 minutes following the Pascal Siakam trade.

Others to consider: Deandre Ayton
