NASCAR Xfinity Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Darlington Mahindra ROXOR 200 (5/7/22)

The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Darlington on Saturday for the Mahindra ROXOR 200.

Last week at Dover, Josh Berry drove to the victory, with JRM drivers taking four of the top five spots. But it's A.J. Allmendinger who leads the point standings, while Ty Gibbs is in second. Gibbs already has three wins this season.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Xfinity Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Xfinity DFS lineup picks for the Mahindra ROXOR 200 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Xfinity Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station. This slate locks on 5/7/22 at 1:45 p.m. ET.

Noah Gragson ($10,800) - Starting 4th

Lot of reasons to play Gragson this week.

For one, he was the fastest in practice, showing that he's got speed this weekend. He's also driving for a team that's been consistently fast all season.

And Gragson also has a stellar track record here. Five Xfinity starts at Darlington have resulted in one win (last fall, when he led 40 laps) and a worst finish of eighth. He's led 40-plus laps in three of his five races here, netting a top five in all three of those starts.

Gragson is the favorite on Saturday, both from a "who will I bet on" perspective and from a "who is going to have the highest DFS ceiling" perspective.

John Hunter Nemechek ($9,400) - Starting 23rd

Nemechek was second-fastest in practice in this Sam Hunt Racing 26 car. He'll be making his fifth start of the season on Saturday and his third in this car. He was 12th in this car at Vegas and then fifth at Phoenix.

Nemechek's one great race — when he led 135 laps and finished second at Richmond — was in an actual Joe Gibbs car. This is only a pseudo Gibbs car and might not be dialed in like the 18 would be if Nemechek was in that car this weekend, but he still has top five upside from the 23rd starting position.

Ryan Truex ($9,000) - Starting 28th

A Joe Gibbs Racing car that starts 28th?

Y'all know what to do here.

Truex was only 11th in practice, but I don't want to hold that against him too much because, as I wrote above, he's in a Joe Gibbs Racing car that starts 28th.

This 18 car has had its struggles at times, with three DNFs, including one at Vegas with Truex behind the wheel. But Truex also has a seventh at Martinsville in his other Xfinity start and this car has led double-digit laps four times this season. Truex might not have the talent of a John Hunter Nemechek, but he can deliver a good result in this car.

Sam Mayer ($8,600) - Starting 7th

Mayer was the slowest JRM car in practice by a wide margin. So, why do I like him?

Because Mayer has been running well, with four top fives in his last five races, with the other result coming at Talladega, where he crashed. These results have come on tracks that are similar vibes to Darlington: tight, close racing where there isn't a ton of room for error.

Mayer had a DNF here last year, his only Xfinity start here. Still, I think his slow practice speed is going to scare enough people off of him that he'll be a really interesting GPP option that helps set your lineup apart from others.

Josh Bilicki ($5,900) - Starting 37th

Bilicki will drive the Alpha Prime 44 car this week. The finishes haven't been there for this car lately, but that's been due to mechanical issues. Ryan Ellis, Sage Karam and Rajah Caruth have all shown speed in this car.

Now, it's Bilicki's turn. He was 22nd in practice and should be able to run in the top 25 on Saturday, which would be a nice win at this price point.

Tommy Joe Martins ($5,400) - Starting 36th

Oh, but there's also another, cheaper Alpha Prime car: the 45, driven by team owner Tommy Joe Martins.

TJM was 20th in practice. The 45 hasn't had the mechanical issues that the 44 has had this year, but it also hasn't had the same kind of speed either, with a pair of 20th-place finishes being the high-water mark for the car. But TJM did get one of those, and finishing around 20th when you start 36th would be a solid fantasy day.
