NASCAR Truck Series: DraftKings DFS Lineup Picks for Talladega Chevy Silverado 250 (10/2/21)

It's time for Talladega!

One of NASCAR's most unpredictable tracks, it almost seems silly to try and suggest fantasy plays for a race that'll be complete chaos. Place differential becomes vital. Drivers starting near the front can kill your lineup in ways they usually don't. Oh, and it's the playoffs, which complicates this even more.

Here at RotoBaller, we want to help you make informed decisions about your DFS lineups, which is why I'll be breaking down the slates for the Truck Series. Let's look at some NASCAR Truck Series DFS lineup picks for the Chevy Silverado 250 on DraftKings. Be sure to also check out our NASCAR Premium Tools for Truck Series including our DFS Lineup Optimizer and powerful Research Station.

Parker Kligerman #75 ($10,900)

Starting 37th

There's a reason Parker Kligerman costs so much this week: he starts 37th and in five Truck Series starts here, he has two wins and three top 10s.

Sure, one win was way back in 2012, but he won in 2017 in this 75 truck. He's led laps in four of his five Truck Series starts here.

Look, Talladega is wild, but Kligerman has a history of success here. He belongs in some of your lineups, though less of them than you might usually have someone with this kind of upside in, because he can easily get swept up in someone else's mistake.

Jordan Anderson #3 ($10,100)

Starting 34th

Jordan Anderson has six top 10s in the Truck Series. Five are at superspeedways, wth two of those being at Talladega.

Anderson was also second at Daytona this year.

Look, a common theme of this week's article is "idk, who knows, anything could happen." Anderson has been the ultimate "idk, who knows, anything could happen" driver at tracks like this, so let's go with as one of the top "idk, who knows, anything could happen" drivers in Saturday's race.

John Hunter Nemechek #4 ($9,300)

Starting 7th

Hey, laps-led points still exist, even if they're hard to predict here. And JHN hasn't led at Talladega, but he has led 27 laps at Daytona in the Truck Series.

He's crashed out or had engine failure in three of his five starts here, but was sixth in 2017 and 11th in 2015. He was seventh at Daytona earlier this year -- his only superspeedway start in a KBM truck -- and led 14 laps.

Of the playoff drivers, Nemechek feels like the one with the best chance of getting through this race clean and having a big run.

Cory Roper #04 ($7,000)

Starting 31st

Roper is so weird. When things go right, he can get a top 20, but things seem to rarely go right for him. But I mean...he was third at Daytona earlier this year, and his average finish at that track is 12.3.

Roper doesn't have any Talladega starts, but Daytona is close enough to Daytona for me to use it as a semi-predictive example here. Roper seems to know how to stay out of trouble on superspeedways. He's $7,000 while starting sub-30th. Think you have to go with him as a place differential play.

Bryan Dauzat #28 ($6,400)

Starting 40th

It's a superspeedway. Anything can happen. So why not take a shot on the driver starting in last place?

This is a chaos play, in that if we have an abnormally calm Talladega race, Dauzat is finishing in the back.

But Talladega in the playoffs? No way it's calm, right?

Dauzat was 19th at Daytona. In 2018, he was eighth at Talladega, and his average finish at Daytona is 24.3, while his average finish at Talladega is 15.3.

Dauzat is almost just so slow that he stays out of trouble by being too far away from the trouble. Usually, you hate playing someone like that. At Talladega and with this kind of place differential upside, it's a totally different story.

Willie Allen #25 ($6,000)

Starting 30th

Willie Allen? Who?

You'd be forgiven for forgetting about the existence of Willie Allen. His last Truck Series start was in 2014, and before that in 2010. He ran one full-time season in 2007, finishing 15th in points.

But Allen goes have a top 10 here in a Thorsport truck in 2007, his only start at this track. His lone Daytona start saw him finish 29th, but he ran as high as 19th and posted one fastest lap.

Allen might be rusty, but look -- it's Talladega. You can start anyone and have a chance at cashing. I wanted to highlight someone who hasn't raced lately.
