MLB DFS: DraftKings Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/14/24) - Today's Top Lineups

Corbin Carroll - MLB Prospects Rankings, Fantasy Baseball Rookies Sleepers

MLB DFS play for DraftKings (9/14/24). Use Dawn's Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks to help build lineups in order to win big playing on DraftKings tonight.

Good morning, all! We have an eight-game slate tonight, and wow, is it a pitchers' slate! Max Scherzer and Chris Sale are up tonight, among others. Brandon Pfaadt could be a sneaky arm as the right-hander has a 4.42 ERA but a 3.65 xFIP. He's facing a Brewers team trending up, but not enough to shy away from with his 8.3 K/9 and 1.96 BB/9.

Who else will we be looking at? The Oakland A's (I said what I said!), San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Houston Astros, among others. The Astros face lefty Tyler Anderson, who has a 3.50 ERA but a 4.80 xFIP and 3.60 BB/9. More on Houston and Arizona below. Let's go!

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/14/2024 and the slate locking at 7:10 p.m. EDT on DraftKings. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

J.T. Ginn - $7.2K DK OAK/RHP at Chicago White Sox

In three starts in the bigs, Ginn has a 5.06 ERA but a 3.81 ERA. It's a small sample, but it's worth the risk against an awful White Sox team with a 62 wRC+ for the season, 73 in the last 30 days. The righty shows potential with nine strikeouts per nine innings and 1.69 BB/9.

What can I say about the White Sox that hasn't been said all year? They are horrible, slashing .220/.278/.337 for the season. And against right-handed pitchers? Even worse, slashing .221/.277/.345.

Chris Sale - $10.8K DK ATL/LHP vs Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are no slouches regarding their bats: 118 wRC+ with a .332 wOBA. When going up against left-handed pitchers on the road this season, they are slashing .271/.336/.428, and in the last 30 days, they are .209/.274/.325 with a .255 wOBA and a surprising 66 wRC+.

Great hitters find a way, but those numbers can't be ignored. At Sale's price of almost 11K on DraftKings, he would already be lower-owned and against the Dodgers, that percentage will surely go down. Sale has a 2.38 ERA and 2.60 xFIP with 11.50 K/9 and 1.89 BB/9.

Also Consider: Max Scherzer (TEX/RHP), Brandon Pfaadt (ARI/RHP), Jack Flaherty (ATL/RHP)

DraftKings Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Altuve (2B, $5.2K) Houston Astros at Los Angeles Angels

Altuve versus a lefty feels like a lock, but versus Tyler Anderson, even more so. Anderson has a 3.50 ERA but a 4.81 xFIP and 3.60 BB/9. This Houston stack is one of my favorites, and while Altuve is pricey at $5.2K, he is slashing .302/.357/.448 this season, .362/.427/.525 versus right-handed pitchers. Don't overthink this one!

Pavin Smith (1B/OF, $2.8K) Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers

The Diamondbacks are another stack I'm targeting tonight. They are facing Tobias Myers, a good pitcher with a 2.95 ERA but a 4.01 xFIP. The DBacks popped out immediately on my nerdy spreadsheets:

Team wrc+ wrc+(L30) wOBA wOBA-L30 Days
Arizona Diamondbacks 115 127 0.336 0.469

Smith is slashing .271/.343/.541 versus righties this season, just a bit more than his numbers for the season: .260/.333/.542. At $2.8K on DraftKings, he's a strong value play and will be part of my Arizona stack tonight.

Zack Gelof (2B, $3.2K) Oakland A's vs Chicago White Sox

When I mentioned Oakland being a favorite stack tonight, I meant it. To the spreadsheet!

Oakland A's versus <a class=

Oakland has a solid 102 wRC+ for the season and, for the last 30 days, a .401 wOBA. The A's are slashing .234/.303/.398 this season, but in the previous 30 days versus right-handed pitchers, they are .257/.310/.430 with 28 homers and 83 RBI. Gelof is slashing .228/.279/.405 versus righties this year, and at $3.2K, he's a solid value play as part of an A's stack.

Also Consider: Dansby Swanson (COL - SS), Ketel Marte (ARI - 2B), Manny Machado (SD - 3B)

DraftKings Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Corbin Carrol (OF, $5.3K) Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers

I know that you knew that Carrol would be in this article. Against right-handed pitchers, the lefty's slash line of .231/.317/.425 is virtually the same as his numbers for the season, with more than half of his 13 homers coming against righties.

And his numbers at home? How about .263/.358/.510 with seven home runs, 29 RBI, and 25 walks. How about stolen bases? WELL. How about 27 for the season, 18 of which were against right-handed pitchers. Build your stacks around Carrol; you won't be sorry!

Jurickson Profar (OF, $4.3K) San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Angels

San Diego faces lefty Mason Black tonight, who is averaging 79 pitchers per game. While his K/9 and BB/9 aren't that bad at 8.44 and 2.53, he has a 6.75 ERA with a 4.91 xFIP in five starts. Those numbers show that he's been a bit unlucky, but against a San Diego team with a 111 wRC for the season and slashing .273/.331/.430 against righties, that bad luck could continue.

Profar has 14 home runs and 52 RBI on the season against righties, and in 30 games at home against right-handers, he has six home runs and 14 RBI.

Also Consider: Kyle Tucker (HOU - OF), Yordan Alvarez (HOU - OF), Ian Happ (CHI - OF), and Fernando Tatis, Jr. (SD - OF)

DraftKings MLB DFS Stack

1. Oakland A's vs. Chris Flexen (COL/LHP)
Favorite Plays: J.T. Ginn, Brent Rooker, JJ Bleday, Zack Gelof

2. Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Tobias Myers (MIL/RHP)

Favorite Plays: Corbin Carroll, Ketel Marte, Joc Pederson, Pavin Smith

Also Consider: Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Houston Astros
