BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 16% of leagues
ANALYSIS: If your reaction to seeing Melky Cabrera as a recommended waiver wire add is, "Really?" you are not alone. I may or may not have said the same thing, in part because it seems like Melky should be about 50 years old by now (he's actually only just turned 34 this month). He was also designated for assignment in June and elected free agency rather than accept the demotion, but returned to the club after finding no takers on the market.
Against all odds, though, the numbers have been there for the Melkman recently. In the month since returning to the big leagues, Cabrera is hitting .309/.356/.532 with six home runs and 26 R+BI in 30 games. Five of those homers have come in the past two weeks, and the veteran suddenly finds himself batting in the middle of the talented Cleveland lineup on a semi-regular basis.
