During the Seattle Seahawks’ game against the Chicago Bears last week, you could hear Marshawn Lynch fantasy owners scream out in utter terror from thousands of miles away. Lynch, who had aggravated his hamstring during Week 2, decided to make the injury worse during Week 3 against the Bears and had to be taken out, leaving most fantasy owners spinning in their own early season graves.
“We won’t know until game time,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll stated on Saturday to the press. “We would go with him if he can make it, if he can pop out of it, then we would go with him.”
This sounds like another one of Carroll’s genius ideas (can you run that ball over to me? No, you want to throw it from that short of distance? Sure, what can go wrong!), and if Lynch expresses that he wants to play (like most players do) Carroll should think smart and do the exact opposite.
As of late, Marshawn Lynch is officially questionable for Monday against the Detroit Lions. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport told NFL Network’s GameDay Morning that owners should “not count on him Monday night in real life or in fantasy.”
With Beast Mode down for the Skittle count, look for Fred Jackson to take passing downs while undrafted rookie Thomas Rawls (who impressed during Week 3) to be the two-down back.
