ANALYSIS: Very few expected much from Marquise Brown in his regular season NFL debut in a run-first offense, especially since he had missed some practices and preseason games while recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury.
Not only did he look fully healthy, but Brown went off for four catches on five targets for 147 yards and two touchdowns against Miami. The yardage total was the fifth-best of any wideout in Week 1, and only one receiver (Sammy Watkins) had more touchdowns in the opener.
He led all Week 1 receivers on Sunday with 23.5 yards after the catch per reception, and he also finished seventh in average targeted air yards with 18.4. It's clear that Lamar Jackson has no problem going for it all with his rookie wideout.
But buyer beware: The Ravens will still run the ball a lot this year, and Brown was in on just 18 percent of the team's offensive snaps in Week 1. He's a young version of DeSean Jackson -- a deep threat with elite speed -- but he also saw only one more target than backup tight end Hayden Hurst.
Brown's opportunities may be few and far between, and he won't be facing an already tanking Dolphins team every week. If you're going to spend on Brown, you're better off doing so in standard-scoring formats as opposed to PPR setups.
