BALLER MOVE: Target: Late Round Pick (Current ADP: 203)
ANALYSIS: The Jaguars receiving corps isn't exactly star-studded, which is what should allow Marqise Lee to break out as a rookie. He’s still behind the unquestioned number one WR Cecil Shorts, but alongside fellow rookie Allen Robinson he’ll have plenty of opportunities to establish himself. He is a freakish athlete with remarkable wideout skills—plenty of burst, great hands, and big ups.
Lee figures to end up as the Z receiver in this offense, which to be fair will be all about ball control. However, most reports indicate that he’ll see reps in the slot, and if this is true then he has a particularly high ceiling. In the slot, Lee would receive plenty of looks from quarterback Chad Henne, and I predict that barring injury, he’ll finish the season with the most receptions in that offense. Shorts is currently nursing a hamstring injury, allowing Lee to get plenty of reps in training camp, and should something happen to Shorts we may see Lee take over the number one receiver role.
Lee is locked in as a WR 4/5 to begin the season, but if things fall into place he has WR3 potential and he could be a great value pick with one of your later round selections.
