BALLER MOVE: Add in Most Leagues
ANALYSIS: Tuesday night was a great indication of how important Marcell Ozuna’s breakout season has been to the Florida Marlins. Ozuna belted a two-run homer off Addison Reed in the top of the ninth inning to help bring home a 2-1 Marlins victory. He has now produced a stat line of 45 R, 90 H, 15 HR, 51 RBI, 2 SB and a .279 AVG in 323 AB, which have some calling him “Stanton-lite”. With all of his production generating a 3.1 WAR, we are willing to overlook a high strike-out percentage of 27.1% and low base on balls percentage of 6.9%, unless these statistics are directly applicable to your league. Ozuna is still owned in only 61% of yahoo leagues, which is way too low, and can therefore be considered one of those post-hype sleepers until his ownership numbers increase. Except in cases where your outfield is stacked to the hilt, Ozuna should be owned in all but the shallowest of leagues.
