BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED: 23% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Cardinals kicked off the 2020 season finishing their Week 1 game this close to putting two players (with Monday's games still to be played) in the top-10 of PPR leaderboards. QB Kyler Murray racked up 29.3 and WR DeAndre Hopkins reached 29.1 (11th) himself. What does that have to do with a low-scoring Larry Fitzgerald? Well, good old Larry is part of this Arizona offense, plays for a quarterback with a monster upside, and has a true no.1 WR playing opposite him and taking pressure off his chest. Not the worst of situations.
Fitzgerald was far from great this past Sunday, let's not lie to ourselves here. Fitz could only get to 34 receiving yards in his season debut against the 49ers while Hopkins racked up more than four times that yardage. He also logged three times more targets that Fitz, though. For what Fitzgerald is, his four receptions on five targets for an average of 6.8 yards per target were not that bad. In the context of Arizona's attack (WRs/RBs/TEs included), he had the second-most receptions, targets, and yards. And knowing Hopkins is part of it now, you can't ask for more.
I don't know when the time will come to wave goodbye to Fitzgerald for once, or if he'll ever retire for good. Until he does, though, there aren't many more surefire PPR options out there with perhaps limited upside on total yardage but a rock-solid pass-catching ability to give him reception points weekly. Must-add in deep leagues, with Christian Kirk (and Hopkins, obviously) being the only real threat to eat from his opportunities and targets.
