There are fewer players in the NFL who can be considered more of a wildcard in the world of fantasy football than Keenan Allen. The mercurial San Diego Chargers' wide receiver provides all of the upside in the world for his owners but can also provide games in which he produces very little. This past Sunday though, Allen showed why he is a must start receiver in any fantasy format.
Keenan Allen had a monster performance against the Green Bay Packers today, catching 14 balls for a total of 157 yards. Though many believed that the return of tight end Antonio Gates would bite into Allen's production, the Chargers' gameplan today was all about the pass, allowing everyone to get a piece of the action. Quarterback Philip Rivers passed the ball a whopping 65 times for a total of 503 yards, with a major chunk of those yards belonging to Allen.
Despite the fact that Allen's production is usually gameplan and matchup dependent, he has Top-5 receiver numbers thus far, and should be treated as such. Fire him up as a WR1 every single week.
