ANALYSIS: When a power hitter comes knocking at your door you take notice. When that same power hitter arrives sans batting gloves, he gets respect at a whole new level. Enter Justin Bour of the Miami Marlins as your cheap source of power for your fantasy roster.
The Marlins have been searching for anyone to compliment and protect Giancarlo Stanton's endless power surge. Marcell Ozuna and Christian Yelich have both had their struggles and Michael Morse who was supposed to be their cheap power source has ultimately failed and landed on the DL. Bour has more than adequately filled the void not only in the middle of the lineup but also at 1B.
In limited at-bats he has hit more HR and collected more RBI than the previously noted Yelich or Morse. His SLG% is in the .550 range and with a BA north of .300 Bour should stay right where he currently sits which is in the middle of the Marlins lineup. His BABIP sits around .350 and his OPS hovers over .900 in a small sample size. Bour merely needs the backing of the organization to see regular at-bats and prove that he belongs as their everyday 1B.
Morse should be back from the DL soon but the way Bour has been hitting he deserves to at least be on the better half of a platoon. Bour is not the most attractive option at a CI position especially with the looming return of Morse but his play on the field garners an addition to your fantasy roster. There are ample opportunities for more playing time down the line if Morse continues to struggle which let's be honest is probably going to happen. Don't be "Bour"ish and do yourself a favor and take advantage of awesomely cheap power.
