BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 57 percent of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: With Dee Gordon suspended, Delino DeShields demoted to Triple-A, and Billy Hamilton still very bad at hitting, it's been tough sledding for some of the most widely drafted speedsters. The emergence of Jonathan Villar, then, has been rather timely for fantasy owners. Villar had stolen 42 bags across parts of three seasons with the Astros, but hadn't really hit much until last season when he produced a respectable .284/.339/.414 line. Now with the Brewers, Villar is third in the majors with 11 swipes and is running an OBP near .400. That's partly driven by a .411 BABIP that is bound to regress, but the 25 year old has significantly increased his walk rate and has enough speed to maintain a higher than average BABIP. If he can keep reaching base at a solid clip, he should continue to contribute plenty of steals and runs. He also has a bit more pop in his bat than his lone home run to this point would suggest.
