Jeremy Langford is still available in 25 percent of leagues. That number will likely go down after the fantastic performance he put together Sunday, his second in a row. Langford has made the most of the playing time that has stemmed from the sprained MCL Matt Forte has been nursing. The Chicago Bears are going to have a hard time finding a place for Forte on the field once his injury heals, mainly because Langford does many of the things that made Forte a top fantasy draft pick the last handful of years. This includes the same type of speed and the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. It also helps that Langford is just 23 years old, six years younger than Forte.
Another reason it may be hard to get Forte back on the field is that the Bears have won two games in a row (now 4-5) thanks in large part to Langford. In the first win - 22-19 against the Chargers - Langford rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 70 yards. In this week's 37-13 victory over the Rams he caught seven passes for 109 yards, including a touchdown on an 83-yard reception, and added 73 yards on the ground.
Things may get tougher for Langford next week as Denver heads to Chicago. However, with Denver potentially benching Peyton Manning for Brock Osweiler, things could be shaky in Denver. If Osweiler starts there is a good chance he could struggle on the road, giving the Bears a lot of chances to test the Denver defense. The same could be said if Manning starts. Ater that the Bears head to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers in a fierce rivalry game. At the start of the season that may have sounded like a daunting task, but after the Lions earned their first victory in Green Bay since 1991 on Sunday, things don't look quite as tough all of a sudden.
