BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 5% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: The Tigers knew all along that JaCoby Jones was going to be an elite fielding center fielder with the potential to post 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases - but whose plate discipline would potentially hold him back.
That's pretty much been the status quo for Jones this season, as the fleet-footed center fielder has eight home runs and six stolen bases in 59 games played, but with a .237/.308/.426 slash line and a 31.1% strikeout rate.
A glance at his statcast data shows that Jones is absolutely crushing the ball, sporting a 48% hard hit rate and a 91.7 mile per hour average exit velocity, both marks that rank among the top 12% in the league.
He'll need to clean up the strikeout issue in order to ever claim relevance in shallower formats, but the fact that he is playing every day, hitting near the top of the order and has the potential to blast a home run or steal base, makes him worth an add in 14+ team leagues and AL-only formats.
