Yes, we know. You spent your first round pick on him. You had the hopes of your entire fantasy team resting on his shoulders. And what has Eddie Lacy given you in return? Numbers that are far from RB1 production. And he did little to quell your concerns today against the St. Louis Rams, rushing for a grand total of 27 yards and hauling in just one reception. So the question remains: Is it time for you to panic?
Lacy was projected by many to be the top running back in fantasy this year, and he has underperformed greatly thus far. He has scored just one touchdown this season, and despite the fact that he was projected to be a major part of Green Bay's passing attack after the injury of Jordy Nelson, he has managed just seven receptions this season. Now, Lacy did injure his ankle earlier this month, and may still be feeling the aftereffects of the injury. Giving Lacy a little more time to get back to being himself may be in order.
But for anxious fantasy owners already in a hole in their respective leagues, could now be the time to trade the 25-year-old back? We would definitely advise against trading Lacy at this moment in time, but if you could get the right price for him (say a legitimate WR1 and another solid flex piece) a trade may be the answer to your woes.
