The Atlanta Falcons have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. After starting the season on a five game winning streak, Atlanta had been on a six game losing streak prior to Sunday's game over the Jacksonville Jaguars, with questions swirling about whether quarterback Matt Ryan's time was up in the A. Atlanta silenced that talk, if even for just a week, with their 23-17 win over Jacksonville in Week 15.
Quarterback Matt Ryan has a less than stellar game on Sunday, throwing the ball for 246 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 22-for-35 passing. Ryan, who was considered by many to be one of top quarterbacks in the league prior to this season, has regressed immensely this year, throwing a total of 18 touchdowns and 15 picks thus far. Matt Ryan is no longer a viable starting option in fantasy.
Despite Matt Ryan's struggles, Julio Jones continues to do his thing. Jones hauled in nine receptions for 118 yards and one touchdown in Atlanta's victory. Jones is clearly the top offensive weapon Atlanta has, and has the ability to back it up. Jones a bonafide WR1 in fantasy, no questions asked.
Devonta Freeman had a solid game against the Jaguars on Sunday, doing his thing on the ground and through the air. Freeman rushed the ball 25 times for 56 yards and one touchdown, and added seven receptions for 45 yards. Though his rushing total was paltry when taking into account the amount of carries he had (2.2 yard per carry average), the sheer volume that Freeman receives makes him a top-flight fantasy option. Fire him up as an RB1.
