Stock Rising / Falling from Preseason Week 2: SEA, NO, OAK, DET

Pre-Season Updates for Fantasy Football

Below are some updates for 4 players coming out of the Week 2 NFL pre-season games. We'll continue to provide NFL updates to help prepare for your fantasy football drafts. Good luck RotoBallers!

Featured Promo: New Novig users get a $25 purchase match (50% discount up to $25) on your first Novig deposit, and a 3 free months of RotoBaller's "Big-4" Premium Pass (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL) which includes exclusive tools for Betting, Props, DFS and more! CLAIM IT NOW
  • Cameron Jordan (DE, NO) - Jordan was disruptive throughout the game, getting to Locker twice while only playing one and a half quarters. Although Locker just barely eluded one of those sack attempts, it's showing that Jordan might be able to repeat a pretty spectacular pass-rushing season.
  • Rotoballer-Fantasy-Football-Advice-Analysis-Russel-WilsonRussell Wilson (QB, SEA) - Wilson paraded his talents all over the Chargers defense, doing whatever he wanted whenever he wanted, and hurting the Chargers pride with every play.

He put on a clinic in passing and mobility, showing the world (again) that the run-first mentality of the Seahawks was there to protect other teams from Wilson's true potential.

I believe that if the Seahawks choose to lean on the passing game, Wilson will have no trouble finishing in the top five among QBs, but how likely is that, really?
  • Maurice Jones-Drew (OAK, RB) - This one is a surprise to me, but the Raiders in Week 2 looked to be trying to involve the backs as much as possible in the passing game through a lot of screens and quick passes.

Jones-Drew ran the best of all the backs when he got his opportunities, and he could be the guy to own in the Raiders backfield. I've written about why you should be wary of the Raiders run game, but with the amount of pressure the starting QB (whoever that will be) can expect face, checkdowns could be aplenty.
  • Theo Riddick (DET, TB) - Riddick was pegged as a sleeper as soon as the offseason program began. Reggie Bush was raving about him, and with Joe Lombardi being an ex-Saints coach (where they employed multiple-back systems), this put Riddick him in a situation where he could get plenty of opportunities.

He was used as a receiver and a back, showcasing his many talents, and he had one gorgeous play, weaving through the field and dodging defenders. Riddick's got potential that you can stash in a dynasty league, and if an injury were to occur to either Bell or Bush, he'll have a lot of redraft appeal.
