Fantasy College Football CFB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (10/2/17)

We're not big on apps.

We're old school. Which means, of course, we're old.

But we're also big on on all types of football. Which is why we were in Glasgow yesterday. So while we may not always feel comfortable with technology, certain apps--we won't mention any names--allowed us to keep up with goings-on on the college gridiron Stateside.

Here's our Top 10 as of October 2, 2017 (with won-loss records in parentheses).

NCAA College Football (CFB) Rankings

1. Alabama, (5-0)

Even the Brits know the Tide are on a roll. Okay, they don't know, and they don't care, but we know, and that's all that matters. Things are in disarray at Ole Miss, but even so QB Jalen Hurts (197 passing yards, 101 yards rushing) made it look too easy.

2. Penn State, (5-0)

We're not with the conventional pollsters here, but we don't care. Receiver DaeSean Hamilton (9 catches, 122 yards, 3 TDs) had his first big game of the season, but we'll know a lot more about the Nittany Lions after they face Michigan in two weeks.

3. Oklahoma, (4-0)

The Sooners were off. No, they didn't play Rutgers. They really did have a bye week. We're still trying to explain that one to the Brits.

4. Clemson, (5-0)

We almost moved Clemson up a spot here, and why not? Winning at Virginia Tech ain't easy, and the Tigers almost made it look just that. We like QB Kelly Bryant's game, but we'd feel a lot better about his team's chances to make noise this season if he would find some consistency as a passer.

5. Georgia, (5-0)

Maybe we're jet-lagged, but didn't someone we know say that the Bulldogs were, well, paper Tigers? Fake news. RB Nick Chubb (16 carries, 109 yards) continues to carry the mail--and this team.

6. Washington, (5-0)

Are the Huskies really the best team in what seems like a down Pac-12? We may not know for sure until the Apple Cup game at the end of the season. The usual suspects (Browning, Gaskin, Pettis) had big days for the Huskies--but against Oregon State.

7. Michigan, (4-0)

Some "muppet" (the Brits taught us that one) here at RotoBaller College Sports HQ also said they weren't sold on the Wolverines earlier this season. Don't worry folks, he's been fired. In-state rival Michigan State awaits after a bye week.

8. Wisconsin, (4-0)

The Badgers struggled a bit against Northwestern, but won it in the end. Freshman RB Jonathan Taylor (19 carries, 80 yards, 2 TDs) was solid yet again.

9. TCU, (4-0)

Another top team with a bye week. One less game to stream.

10. Washington State, (5-0)

The Cougars knocked off USC, and knocked them out of the Top 10. Coach Mike Leach may have the weirdest "coach's show" in the sport, but he can groom QBs. Just ask future pro Luke Falk (340 yards, 2 TDs against the Trojans).
