FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/8/20): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Austyn Varney highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/8/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Welcome to NBA Wednesday night. We have nine games on the board tonight, but a ton of different options to pay up for. There is value to pay down for, but we have to get it perfect in tournaments if we wan to take down some serious cash.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/8/20. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

Give me a follow on Twitter @DFSVarney and say hello. Good luck RotoBallers, let's dive right in!

FanDuel DFS Guards

James Harden - SG, HOU @ ATL ($11,200)

James Harden is the 3rd most expensive player on FanDuel after dropping 70+ fantasy points in two of his last three games. He now gets a match-up with a Hawks team that's willing to play fast and doesn't have any defense to even slow Harden down. There isn't a defender in basketball that can stop Harden and none of these youngsters in Atlanta have a chance. Down low, John Collins is not a rim protector. He's more likely to get into foul trouble than anything. Harden is just over $11k on FanDuel and extremely doable in turn in both cash games and tournaments. James Harden is my favorite way to pay up on the slate.

Kris Dunn - PG, CHI @ NO ($4,700)

The minutes on Dunn have been inconsistent, but you can ignore last game. He got into foul trouble early in the first and third quarters covering Luka Doncic and never got into a rhythm. This match-up sets up nicely for Kriss Dunn, as the Pelicans like to run heavy-guard sets and the Bulls will need the defense on Ball. Dunn is still under $5k on FanDuel and he could very well eclipse 30 fantasy points in the fast-paced match-up.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Brandon Ingram - SF, NO vs. CHI ($9,300)

Jrue Holiday has already been ruled out for his game, so we can safely assume Brandon Ingram is going to have another huge game. Lonzo Ball is in play as well, but Kris Dunn is truly one of the best defensive guards in basketball. Ingram will have the friendlier match-up and he's going to give the Bulls a fit defensively. It may be Zach LaVine who ends up on Ingram, but that's obviously not a guy who can stay with Ingram down low. If they elect to put a Thad Young or Hutchinson on him, Ingram is just too fast. Ingram got up to 55 fantasy points last game with Holiday out and I'd imagine he's not far off tonight.

Michael Porter Jr. - PF, DEN @ DAL ($3,900)

With Will Barton out for this game, it's safe to assume we're going to see at least 25 minutes out of Porter and we could very well see 32. He's been heavily involved when in the game and the match-up with the fast-paced Mavericks is a great one for a guy that thrives in the open floor. Porter is way too cheap on FanDuel and easily my favorite value play on the slate.

FanDuel DFS Centers

Nikola Vucevic - C, ORL vs. WAS ($8,800)

We've been picking on the Wizards down low all season and now they face off with Nikola Vucevic. The crafty big man flies under the radar as one of the best offensive centers in the league and a guy who can drop 60 fantasy points on any given night. Vuc picked up 24 rebounds against the Nets, so he could've been right around 60 with just an average offensive night. I expect the rebounds to be around 15 tonight and for him to easily eclipse 20 points. The price is fair and I doubt the ownership will rise above 35%.
