FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (1/21/19): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 1/21/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

I hope everyone is enjoying the extended weekend. The association features a massive slate of games across the board in one of the best days of the year for hoops. FanDuel has the slate broken up so we will be focusing on the main slate of contests that begins at 3 pm. We have some significant injuries to monitor as Jimmy Butler, Joel EmbiidAaron Gordon, Dewayne Dedmon, Alex Len, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol, and Lonzo Ball have either been already ruled out or are in danger of not playing. LeBron James is also listed as a game-time decision, but will likely not play against Golden State.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 1/21/19. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also check out today's DraftKings lineup picks.

FanDuel DFS Guards

D'Angelo Russell - SG, vs. SAC ($7,900)

Russell, who is currently in the midst of his best season in the league, has averaged 20 shot attempts over the past five games. During that same span, the 22-year-old is also averaging 26.2 points and shooting an impressive 42 percent from behind the arc. Expect the Nets and the visiting Kings to keep this game moving fast, likely leading to Russell surpassing that attempts total from the last five games. At only $7,900, he is a bargain for sure.

Trae Young - PG, vs. ORL ($7,300)

The Magic will head to Atlanta in another game that will be played with the pedal to the metal, featuring a pace of 104.22 possessions, the second-highest of the day behind Sacramento/Brooklyn. Though it is easy to gravitate towards guys like Stephen Curry and Kyrie Irving, which are both great plays, Young could easily hit his value of 36.5 fantasy points on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. With the Hawks potentially down a few big names on the offensive end, Young, along with Kevin Huerter, could see a more significant workload than usual.

Other FanDuel DFS Guards to Consider: Ben Simmons ($10,000), Stephen Curry ($10,000), De'Aaron Fox ($8,000), Spencer Dinwiddie ($5,900), Elfrid Payton ($5,500), James Harden ($14,000), Jrue Holiday ($9,000), Klay Thompson ($6,000), Evan Fournier ($6,000), Buddy Hield ($5,900), Terrence Ross ($5,100), Josh Hart ($4,900), Justin Holiday ($4,800).

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Nikola Mirotic - SF, @ MEM ($6,100)

Just like Julius Randle, Mirotic will also reap the benefits of Anthony Davis' 1-2 week absence, sporting a 6.4 increase in the +/- department. Though he hasn't played more than 28 minutes since returning from an ankle injury that kept him out for an extended amount of time, Coach Gentry may be forced to keep him on the floor more if the Pelicans have any hope of staying in the playoff hunt while Davis recovers.

Marvin Bagley III - PF, @ BKN ($5,800)

Bagley's minutes have been slowly increasing since returning from an 11-game absence as a result of a knee ailment and has logged at least 20 minutes in the team's previous five games. He should be in line to see more time on the court at the expense of Nemanja Bjelica, who has been starting with Bagley coming in from the bench. With the Nets' issues on the interior this season, look for the rookie to hit his value, at the minimum, on Monday afternoon.

Other FanDuel DFS Forwards to Consider: Kevin Durant ($10,200), Brandon Ingram ($6,700), Gerald Green ($5,000), DeMarre Carroll ($4,800), E'Twaun Moore ($4,500), Taurean Prince ($4,100), John Collins ($8,300), Kyle Kuzma ($7,500), Draymond Green ($7,400).

FanDuel DFS Centers

Julius Randle - C, @ MEM ($8,200)

With the Pelicans down Anthony Davis for the next few weeks, Randle will get a serious increase in production. With Davis not on the floor, the 24-year-old receives a 4.1 percent usage increase in addition to a 5.7 increase in +/- differential. Valued at only $8,200, Randle's asking price will likely head north over the next few games so enjoy this discount price while it lasts. His stock will also increase if Marc Gasol, who is listed as a game-time call with a back issue, isn't able to suit up.

Other FanDuel DFS Centers to Consider: Nikola Vucevic ($9,400), Willie Cauley-Stein ($7,900), Jarrett Allen ($7,100), Ivica Zubac ($4,300).
