FanDuel MLB Lineup Picks (6/20/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

JorgePucks highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/20/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

As is customary on Sundays, we have a very large slate to dissect with lots of batting and pitching options for us to consider. We have some good pitching options on this slate so we will need to figure out which one can get us a few strikeouts and a win while also choosing between some great offenses like Houston, New York, Oakland, and Toronto to choose from.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/20/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate.

You can also check out today's DraftKings MLB DFS lineup picks, and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Taijuan Walker - NYM @ WSH ($9,400)

This slate is a tad tricky when it comes to pitching since we do not have any true aces on the mound. The top arm on the slate for me given the overall matchup and most recent form would be Taijuan Walker. Walker is 6-2 on the season with a 2.12 ERA and looks to be in great form as he has picked up a quality start in two out of his last four starts and has combined for 31 strikeouts and just six runs allowed over his last 24 innings pitched. The matchup against the Nationals looks to be tough more so because of how strong the top of the order looks but if he can navigate around their tope three to four batters, Walker can take care of the rest of the lineup with ease.

Alternate Play(s)

Zach Thompson - MIA @ CHC ($5,500)

Thompson is an extreme value and while the Cubs have a few strong right-handed batters that hit lefties well, this could be a matchup worth considering. Thompson is coming off of a strong outing against the Braves where he went five innings, struck out six batters, and allowed no runs so if he can replicate a performance like that one, he could smash his value. The Cubs have four batters that have a .185+ ISO against left-handed pitchers but this lineup also features five batters that have a strikeout rate that is greater than 21% so this is a high-risk/ high-reward play if you roll out Thompson against Chicago.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B/3B, TOR @ BAL ($4,700)

The Blue Jays will be a very popular stacking option today and Guerrero Jr. will be arguably the most popular option on the slate. Guerrero Jr. has been on another level this year and is coming off of a two-hit performance where he recorded his 23rd home run of the season. Matt Harvey will be on the hill for the Orioles and righties are killing him by hitting .362 on the season so it makes sense to go right to the best right-handed batter on the team.

Joe Panik - 2B/3B, TOR @ BAL ($2,300)

If you're wanting a value play from the Blue Jays, look no further than Joe Panik. Panik has hit righties well this year as he is slashing .283 against them while both of his home runs have come from this handedness of pitcher and he is one that gets you exposure to Toronto while not completely breaking the bank while also having multi-position eligibility.

Ke'Bryan Hayes - 3B, PIT vs. CLE ($3,500)

While the Pirates offense is one that we never truly look to, they have a few bats today that looks to match up well against Sam Hentges. Hentges is a lefty-pitcher and Hayes is swinging a good bat against lefties this season as he is batting .356 against them this season and is hitting .444 against this handedness when at PNC Park. Hentges has gotten hit from both sides of the plate but righties are hitting .374 and Hayes has a .406 against this handedness.

Marcus Semien - 2B/SS, TOR @ BAL ($3,800)

Semien is swinging a hot bat right now and is coming off of a double-dong performance on Saturday afternoon. He has now recorded a hit in 10 out of his last 13 games played and profiles well against Matt Harvey. Harvey throws his fastball and sinker for a combined 60% of the time and Semien has a .284+ ISO and a .403+ XwOBA against both pitch types.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Christian Yelich - OF, MIL @ COL ($4,300)

From a pay-up standpoint, there might not be a better option than Christian Yelich against Chi Chi Gonzalez in Coors. Gonzalez has been awful all season long as he has a 5.76 ERA and pitching in the best hitting environment will not make it any better for him. Yelich is hitting .272 against righties this year and all three of his home runs have come from this handedness. Gonzalez throws his fastball over 40% of the time to lefties and Yelich has an ISO of .438 and an XwOBA of .403 against this pitch type.

Bryan Reynolds - OF, PIT vs. CLE ($3,100)

Another Pirates batter to consider is Bryan Reynolds. Reynolds is hitting .347 against lefties this season and is sporting a .211 ISO against that handedness this year. Hentges throws his fastball near 50% of the time and Reynolds carries a .600 ISO and a .655 XwOBA against this specific pitch type.

Chad Pinder – 2B/OF, OAK @ NYY ($2,300)

Pinder is a big splits guy for the A's so when there is a lefty on the mound, you can feel comfortable knowing that Pinder will slot somewhere into the lineup for Oakland. Lefty Jordan Montgomery will be on the bump for the Yankees and Pinder is hitting .316 on the season against this handedness while having a .266 ISO. Righties are sporting a .184 ISO against Montgomery this year so rostering a right-handed hitter like Pinder would make a great one-off play from this game.
